How is Writing In Your Genre Different from Others?
To really be successful in the horror genre, your work need to maintain an element of believability. You want to be as frightening as possible, but without believability you won’t be able to keep your readers engaged and anxious to see how things play out.
What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
Write in a genre that you love, and make sure that you also read a lot in that genre. Reading works from more established writers will help you learn about structuring and character development. Reading and writing frequently is really the only way to hone your skills.
Dan McClellan is a life long horror fan who loves to write in the genre. He especially enjoys creating tales of supernatural terror that are heavy on atmosphere and keep readers guessing till the end. He’s currently working on a short fiction series called Bonds of Darkness of which Evil Under Our Feet is the first installment.
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I’ve always been a fan of the horror genre, and I’m especially intrigued by well crafted supernatural horror. I wanted to create a unique story of supernatural terror that readers like myself would enjoy. Evil Under Our Feet is the first piece in an ongoing series that that I think avid horror fans will really get into.
