Aeron Deniel, a private investigator is hired by Marcus Haig to find his daughter that was kidnapped in the middle of the night by two unknown assailants. He travels to Nork, where he meets a girl named Diane, who tells him that he will find Corrine Haig in a town called Aeter.
Aeron is trapped in Aeter, along with another man named, Bryan. Both search for the girl, they find her, but strange monsters attack them.
Aeron has to fight both Diane and Ryon, Corrine’s kidnappers. But just when they thought that they were free to leave, Brion, Corrine’s uncle and the mastermind of her kidnapping, attacks them. Aeron is unable to defeat Brion and is sent to a different dimension. Bryan succeeds by bringing Aeron back, but dies at the hand of Brion, just as Aeron returns.
Aeron during his stay in the other dimension, the Chasm, discovers that his life is tied to Brion’s. He still confronts Brion who tried to use his niece as a vehicle for Eidolon’s soul, that way they could free the world from the tyranny of death, and to become immortal.
Corrine escapes through an underground train, while Aeron fights a Brion/Eidolon godlike being. Brion finally dies, but Aeron’s dies as well. But the fight isn’t over for Corrine; she still has to fight a horrible mutation of Ryon. Corrine defeats the creature at last, and later on, she arrives at a small town and phones home.
