What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
The fact that people couldn't go out on dates in 2020 was daunting and it made me write the beautiful intricacies of meeting someone. The whole idea of crushes meeting for the first time, their nervousness – it was all fascinating to write.
That kept me going in this tough time.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
It is everyone in the world. You and me. Any boy or a girl inspire the characters in the book.
“I cannot be my own sunshine, though.“ He typed in the textbox at the bottom and hit Send.
Now all he had to do was wait. Somehow, he had forgotten about the extra calories he had tonight and all his other troubles. He was now only focused on getting a reply from his crush.
He switched back to Whatsapp to respond to his friends again. As he was typing a message in the group, a notification popped up. ‘@aloho_meera sent you a message.’
He immediately tapped on the notification, leaving his friends to wonder what he was going to say.
Meera replied, “Why not?“
Gaurav’s thumbs have never moved faster, “Well, for someone to be my sunshine or anyone else's for that matter, they should be able to smile like you! 🤭“
Smooth, he thought to himself. Meera was online. He went back to his Whatsapp to finish the message. After about 10 minutes of scrolling and switching between apps, he went back to the DMs on Instagram to check if she had read his DM. The bottom of the screen read, ‘Seen’, indicating she had read the message. But, there was no reply, and now Meera was offline. Gaurav felt heartbroken. Maybe she fell asleep – it was almost 11:30. He was trying to make himself feel better.
Gaurav was about to throw his phone away on the bed and sleep when his eyes lit up. There was a green dot on Meera's DP and her the status changed to, ‘Typing…’
Gaurav's heart had never raced faster than it did at that moment.
