Crystal Fire is an epic fantasy set in a magic realm of sorcerers, heroes, villains, and legends. The Crystal, inhabited by a thousand souls and more, is the center of all civilization. But The Crystal is coveted by the evil witch Thisrena and her sorcerer partner, Dalwin, once one of the esteemed Crystal Warriors. To gain The Crystal’s riches, the treacherous duo and their minions place it under magical and physical attack. To protect The Crystal, the call goes out to the remaining Crystal Warriors scattered throughout the realm, many still smarting from the horrors of the last battle. But now they must return to save The Crystal. Reluctantly, these once proud and powerful Crystal Warriors and their companions travel from the far corners of the world, discovering powers even they never knew they had, while encountering beings from the netherworld not seen for centuries. To save The Crystal, they must do battle with forces that are at least equal to their own. From the far southern desert to near the tip of the world in the north they muster their forces to do battle with many forms of evil. It is said that good always triumphs over evil. But will it?

How is Writing In Your Genre Different from Others?
I’ve written in four distinct genres. Sword & Sorcery Fantasy requires putting myself in a certain mindset. Creating plausible suspension of belief is really important. Anything magical has to be believable and not too far fetched, but exciting. It’s a balancing act. Other genres require a different mindset altogether because they are dealing with different place, people, and things. But still the same basics apply. Make the characters interesting and the happenings believable.
What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I’ve been a fan of scifi and fantasy for a long time. I had the time and a strong desire to create so I followed the muse and started writing. The story, complete as it is, left questions untold, which led to a second novel earlier in the timeline. The creation of The Last Battle (book two) set up the third book (The Twelve Tablets), which takes place after the end of the first book. Confused? Read the books.
