When I brainstormed cover ideas about my YA urban fantasy series, I wanted the cover to do three things:
1. Convey the mysteriousness of the book’s male hero.
2. Show the location of this book. This was important, as each book in the series takes place in a unique location.
3. Hint at the paranormal creatures in the story: faeries.
Renu accomplished all three! I was most impressed with her hand-drawn font that she created for my series. I had asked if she could make the ‘W’ into wings. She returned my cover with her own personalized font that has hidden faerie wings throughout.
