Comments about cover design
During the writing of this book there was a scene that stuck in my head the entire time and I knew it had to be the cover. The scene included a lake with lots of trees around and a cloaked figure – a red cloak – standing out menacingly. I took these ideas to Jane Smith (JD Smith) who went off and produced a couple of draft designs and in no time at all we concluded that this one was THE one.
This is fantastic!!! This cover is definitely one of my favorites.
I’m not a YA, but I like reading that genre and this cover is very appealing!
I like the brightness of the cape!
My teenagers would like this one
The loneliness and isolation of the cover draws the eye. Like the contrast of the red cape against the dark wooded background. It’s one my oldest would pick up off the shelf for the cover alone.
I like this cover. It’s kind of dark.
YA is not my thing but this cover makes me curious. You have my vote.
This cover drew me in. The darker red gives it a more sinister feeling. Well done! It’s a gorgeous shot.
Excellent cover. It would have been easy to go too bold on the red in the cape.

Creepy, ethereal, foreboding. It makes me want to read about what is going on, who is in danger, and will they be okay????
Thank you very much! 🙂
I like this cover a lot. It’s very atmospheric. The font choices are very nice.
Very nice. Atmospheric.
