The Pipe Woman Chronicles are urban fantasy/paranormal romance, but I hate the “naked torso” covers that so many romance books have. Since the main male character is a shapeshifter, I looked through a bunch of stock photos of animals. I kept coming back to the fractal owl, and I figured if it kept catching *my* eye, it ought to catch the eye of readers, too. 🙂 I got advice on layout and the title font from a couple of friends who know way more about graphic art than I do.
