Wonderful story blurb, but nothing about this cover jibes with the blurb. The story sounds like dystopian scifi, but the cover looks memoir-ish. I wonder if you couldn’t come up with a cover that has a more futuristic/dystopian feel? Right now, your title with this cover feels a little “Good-bye, Mr. Chips.” I’m not sure that’s the direction you want your potential readers’ minds going.
I’m afraid this cover doesn’t properly convey the genre (or any genre, really) to me. That’s a shame, really, because the story has a great blurb and it would be something I would read. I would never get past the cover to investigate the blurb probably. My first thought was that it was a NF – probably a memoir. The title, which is whimsical, also doesn’t really give me a clue as to what the story is about. That puts all the heavy lifting onto the blurb, which is a lot to ask of those few words.
