The inspiration came from the story itself as well as the title. I was lucky to find a designer that listened to me and guided me without pressure. Constricted is a light steampunk, paranormal romance set in a futuristic dystopian world that has reverted back to the technology of the late 1800’s. As a genre masher, I needed to bring all of those elements into the cover without cluttering or confusing the reader. I think we did it fairly well by portraying the MC on the cover in a rather confined pose. It’s a character driven book of self-discovery and of course it’s romantic, but this isn’t your average romance read either.

Gorgeous cover! Book covers are what catches my eye from first glance, then the excerpt grabs ahold and it is a must read after that!

I like this cover because it’s not a cliche romance image.

I have loved this cover since day one. The cover simply screams the character. Malnourished, confined and introverted because of circumstance. Never have I seen a cover that nails a book, so well.
Congrats on making it to the finals…it’s well-deserved.

The cover is as intriguing as the story. You must wonder why she is in a defeated pose and why the hands on her. You are rooting for her before you read word one.

The wallpaper in the background and the overlays gives the imagination a dose of the era while the woman completes it, giving us a more vivid insight into the story before (and during and after) it’s read.
I could see this featured in end-caps in book stores!

I love the simplicity of the cover, the pop of blue in the title. But amazingly it’s the model complete lack of color that really draws your eyes in. This cover would definitely grab my attention and get me to check out the book.

I think that this cover draws the eye first thing. There’s just something there that captures you’re attention. I love the old-timey feeling to it. And her pose is elegant, yet scared at the same time. I also like the font that was used also!!!
