Lia has had enough of well meaning family and friends who lovingly keep setting her up on blind dates. She retreats to the mountains for a month’s break in a desire to find some peace and quiet. She chooses the nationally famous Drakensberg range, known for its family and tourist activities, as opposed to a more ‘singles’ scene. When she meets the gorgeous Taylor who works at the resort, Lia finds herself struggling against her resolve to avoid any further romantic drama in her life.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I have spent a lot of time in the South Africa Drakensberg mountain range. It’s beauty is relaxing and awe inspiring. It is popular with tourists and families and the idea came to me that, it would be a good spot to try and retreat from the world and the pressures of romance. My heroine went there to relax and then, as in my own life, got caught up in a romantic situation.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
I based Lia’ s character on one of South Africa’s values–love of family. That is why her family features in the story as supporting characters. I also decided to incorporate the use of South African names as I realised in many of my stories I have been using more Western based names due to my readers being mostly Western.Taylor represented for me strength and I initially struggled over her name. I gave her a Western name as befitting her American nationality. Lia comes across as sometimes a bit self centred, but she is in fact a bit shy and her self-esteem is low. I hope the readers pick this up.
“We have an adventure sports centre,” Lungile continued, walking with her to the door. “Thank you,” Lia said smiling at her; she was enthusiastic and Lia did not want to hurt her feelings. She grabbed a few brochures to appear polite and stepped out of the door leaving the information area.
Lifting her head up to find the way to her room, she was suddenly rooted to the spot. Her eyes fell on the most stunning female figure she had ever seen; curved strong hips, toned legs, raven black hair flowing down a firm back, muscled shoulders in a white vest top gleaming in the sunlight. Lia found herself staring. The lawn shower spray was delicately leaving droplets of shimmering water on the woman’s golden skin. Her breasts were small but high and as she was not wearing a bra, clearly visible against the damp vest top. The tall vision laughed and shook her head to shake away the droplets of water. Lia felt she was seeing her in slow motion. She gaped and was aware that her whole body was throbbing.
