How is Writing In Your Genre Different from Others?
As a writer you have to be really emotionally honest and a bit brave. Erotic fiction writers go where others often fear to tread. And writing sex right isn’t easy. It only takes one wrong word or move and the reader is catapulted out of the story cringing.
What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
Write. Revise, revise, revise. Grow a thick skin. Take a constructive critique on the chin and write some more.

Kate lives, writes and loves in Melbourne, juggling her strange, secret affairs with her male characters with her much loved partner and daughter, and a menagerie of neurotic pets.
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
During my twenties and thirties I was quite into New Age experiences and developed in interest in ancient sexual practices like Tantra and Taoism. These ideas introduced me to the immense power and range of female sexuality. I’ve always loved erotica and wondered why the much of the published work I read never seemed to reflect the breadth of sexual pleasure women’s bodies were capable of. It seemed an obvious gap I was happy to fill. I write sexual empowerment stories. My hero, Ramon Mendez, is essentially the perfect lover, he knows all there is to know about sexual pleasure. Okay – he’s a fantasy – but he’s a lovely fantasy. He gives the women he loves the freedom to discover their sexual potential.
