Does ‘normal’ even exist for Emari Sweet anymore? Normal is all she’s wanted since the death of her parents. But with the Wraith, Thomas, out for her blood, and Nick’s duplicity, Em doesn’t see normal returning any time soon. Making use of her new found powers, she works with Spokane Police to uncover evidence in ‘cold cases’ and memoryprint clues for current ones. But is she putting the entire Caphar race at jeopardy by her choices? Will her relationship with Nick survive his lie and her rage? And will any of them survive the destruction of the malevolent Nightmare Wraith?
The Dream Weaver series is a young adult paranormal fiction/action adventure that’s a bit on the dark side. The Onar Caphar (Dream Weavers) are an ancient, arcane and almost immortal supernatural race descended from the offspring of angels & humans, the Nephilim. The Weavers use the power to command memories and dreams, to defend themselves from and destroy the Rephaim (the Nightmare Wraith). This suspense/thriller, written about realistic, science fiction, pseudo-scientific memory and dream manipulation, is set in the Pacific Northwest. Reviewers have called the series a beautiful, atmospheric survival story that is dark sci fi meets teen fantasy meets dark romance; and a YA paranormal love story that’s receiving 5 star reviews from readers of all ages.
WOW! Excellent pace, wonderfully flowing narrative, and an ethereal sense of excitement throughout!

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Originally the Dream Weaver Trilogy was inspired the Twilight saga, but it didn’t take long to take on an identity of its own. I wanted Emari to reach the rock bottom of her depression and anger over all the tragedy in her life, all of the deception and out right lies. And I needed her to learn to stand on her own without Nick or anyone else holding her up.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Emari is a compilation of myself as a teen and my teenage daughter and her friends.
Nick was originally my ‘Edward’ and even hails from the same era. Nick’s entire back story was created around a grave marker I’ve visited since I was in Jr High. I researched this woman’s life, as in depth as you can get from records from 1918, and formulated the story of Nick’s life around this woman. He was named after from the headstone that rests next to the woman’s. I did change his surname to Benedetti, just in case the series did become popular and I didn’t want anything to happen to those markers.
Sabre James came from a guy my oldest daughter knew. He was actually Tabor and I wasn’t really fond of him so Sabre’s evolved from there. Jesse James is a notorious thief and Sabre isn’t much better. So I gave him Jesse’s last name.
Chapter 6 Hate is Such a Strong Word
Nick stood framed by my bedroom doorway, his arms folded protectively over his chest. And brutally handsome as always. I scowled at the thunderous swooning of my heart and he winced.
“Hey,” he finally said once he’d regained his courage.
“Hey back,” I answered and allowed the tiniest twinge of a smile to crook my mouth. I almost hoped it didn’t look like a snarl.
“May I come in? Please?”
My eyes flashed to the poster of Vlad Tepes on my wall. “I thought we determined you’re not a vampire and you don’t need an invitation.”
“All the same….” His face contorted with reticence and uncertainty.
How was it that I could love and hate him all at the same time? I wondered if there was ever a time Mom and Dad felt that way. I would’ve never known. Apparently, there was a lot about my parents, and the past that I didn’t know. “I suppose.”
He shambled in and sank into the rocking chair beside the bed like his legs could no longer hold up the weight on his shoulders. His fingers laced together then separated and drummed on his knees like he didn’t know what to do with his hands. Or he was stalling a confession.
“Nick…” I said, just as he was saying ‘Emari.’
He shot me a timid smile but his eyes darted back to the floor. His hands fidgeted until he finally laced them together in a tight knot that blanched the color from his knuckles. His elbows were propped on his knees and he hunched over as if his chest was caving in.
“Please…I just want you to hear me out. I’ll tell you anything and everything you want to know.” The words groaned out of him, compressed by fear and guilt, and I quelled the anger that bubbled up in response. “I don’t know where you want me to start.”
A swarm of emotions dive-bombed my mind like a murder of crows all suddenly took wing at once…
