A witch, a wolf, a woodsman. Unexpectedly together under one roof for the duke’s grand midsummer masquerade in the Black Forest. Amid the dancing, heady wines, and sultry glances from behind glamorous masks, the three of them find themselves drawn together: a decadent and irresistible layer cake dripping with the juices of forbidden fruit.
DEIDRE: Gorgeous, smart, and terribly lonely living in the woods with her grandmother, the local herb witch. Deidre craves whatever lies off the beaten path. Whatever pushes her boundaries. When she encounters a handsome stranger on her way to the village, how can she resist the chance he offers her?
GRIFFIN: The sexy alpha woodsman who’s used to walking his own path and used to getting his own way. He hasn’t let his heart get comfortable around anyone–not since it was crushed years ago when the love of his life walked out on him. Then he meets Deirdre, the enigmatic woman in red who makes his pulse quicken and his head spin.
LUCIAN: A city man if ever there was one. He has come all the way out to Blackwood Hall as a favor to an old friend, Duke Alexander. When a runaway horse leaves him stranded on the road in the middle of nowhere, he meets Deidre, his angel in red… who just happens to have been invited to the party by Lucian’s ex, Griffin. Now Lucian is torn between his desire to mend things with the man he loves and following his heart to this woman who has capivated them both in the space of a day. But what Lucian really wants to know is… why does it have to be either/or? Why can’t they all have both?

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I've always loved curling up with a good fairytale. I'm especially fond of ones where multiple stories collide in unexpected ways. I couldn't get the idea of a witch of the woods falling in love with not only a huntsman but a (not so big, bad) wolf out of my head, so I just ran with it!
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
I came up with Deirdre first. The image of a witch in a summer forest with a "mouth like cherries" and a big red riding hood came to me pretty much instantly. I'm not sure if it's because Deirdre sounds like an anagram of "the red" or what, but I didn't plan her name, that's just what I wrote down right away and it stuck.
Griffin and Lucian I took from popular fairytale tropes. The big, strong huntsman. The sly wolf. For Lucian, I wanted him to still be a "good" guy as much as any of them are. He's not a villain, he's just made some mistakes. My hope is that readers can find all three of them sympathetic and relatable in some ways.
“Is that an invitation to join you in your carriage?” she asked, bold as brass.
I laughed and opened the door, holding out a hand for her.
“It is now,” I heard myself say.
“What’s your name?” I asked, when she had settled in beside me and the driver had resumed our course.
“What is yours?”
“I did ask you first, my dear.”
She smiled mysteriously but did not answer my question, which was delightful and infuriating all at once. I imagined putting her to task in other ways. Coaxing a laugh out of her with kisses along her throat. Getting her to tell me what her favorite dessert was by stroking the sensitive underside of her forearm.
Perhaps naked, on a bed of satin sheets, her limbs bound to the bedpost, I could lick along her inner thighs up to meet her Lady Jane, and get her to tell me what sort of pet I ought to get for her. I like mixing up absurd domesticity with lewd acts. I could have a lot of fun with this one.
“How do you know the duke?” I tried a different tack, to fill the time with conversation if nothing else.
“Oh, I don’t know him,” she said, surprising me with her frank honesty. “I was invited by Griffin. His huntsman.”
At the name, my stomach went cold and I had to will myself to remember to breathe normally. Griffin St. Claire. So the rumors were true; he had taken up a position in Alex’s household.
