Birds in Peril Series Description: Five women met, fell in love with and married men who aided the arrest and subsequent imprisonment of Sheldon Humsler. Even though the events that disrupted their lives, did not necessarily involve Humsler, they certainly invoked the conviction that one-day Humsler would find a way to enact his revenge. All of these women and the men they married are in some way closely connected to Humsler’s arch enemies, Benton Cromwell, T.J. Harvester and Thad Hunt. Because of Humsler, Benton Cromwell’s life and livelihood have become so precarious he now lives as an invalid on borrowed time. However, his friends, T.J. Harvester and Thad Hunt, continue to grow in family, and indeed. Both are well-loved by many. The time is near when a final confrontation with Humsler must occur. Humsler has an accomplice…someone closely connected to Hunt….but who could that possibly be?
Pigeon in a Snare: He was her knight in shining armor. She was his lost love—the one girl with whom life might have been worth sharing—if another had not told lies deliberately intended to separate them. Now her life is in serious danger.
Roses for the Sparrow: It was bad enough that her best friend/employer took off on an extended honeymoon leaving Jani to oversee the building of their new business alone. Some girls have all the luck- or maybe that’s no luck at all. How often does a girl have two stalkers after her at the same?
Plight of the Wren: Susie Wrener’s life became front-page news when her abusive husband put her in the hospital and sent himself to jail. Three years later, life has returned to mundane, while Susie struggles to maintain a peaceful loving home for her two children as a single mom. Then she meets Ted Harvester and wins the lottery in the same week…
Robin Unaware: Life is constant change, sometimes planned, sometimes instant and devastating. For Stephanie Harvester-Garrett, life takes an abrupt curve when her husband is killed in a car accident. The dream of living a peaceful country life is interrupted by unexpected ghosts of the past, and hatred spawned in the name of love.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Birds in Peril Box Set is the first four stories of the Birds in Peril Series. Robin, the fourth story was published in 2017 and I wanted to try to reignite interest in the whole series as I prepare to finish and publish the final two series stories.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
I wrote Pigeon a long time ago (long before I published any other book). Even back then, I wondered if the story could become a series. Pigeon is Lisa's story but I wondered about her assistant Jani. Jani is the primary character of Sparrow where Susie is introduced. Susie became the primary character of Wren. And I'm not sure where Robin came from but Stephanie's story also needed to be told. In all, it took nearly twenty years to write, perfect and publish all four of those stories and the series is not done. I have yet to publish Sylvia and Anne's stories.
Such a beautiful day! The sunlit a brilliant blue sky. Sounds and smells of Fall filled the air. Falling leaves from trees littered the off-roads along the interstate.
They were traveling way too fast in the early morning traffic. Just ahead, a large dog was trying to make its way across the busy highway between four lanes of fast-moving cars.
"No … No!" she cried
His grip on her hand hurt. She managed to yank away and reach for the dash but then he grabbed her arm.
"Look out! Look out!"
Their vehicle swerved into the side of a passing car sending it into the median. The dog leaped away from the traffic.
Did the dog make it to safety? Did someone else hit it?
She would never know.
They were swerving left then right, then straight across the median into oncoming traffic.
The vehicle bumped back up onto the highway and then began to roll almost in slow motion, it seemed. She hung on through the first spin, but one side bounced off the pavement kinking the frame and causing the door to burst open. The vehicle kept rolling.
Because of her position on the edge of the seat, she was flung backward through the open door and landed hard on her left side. Asphalt seared through her jeans as she kept sliding off the pavement, over the graveled edge, down a rough, weedy patch, to come to a flopping halt just inches above a drainage ditch running near to full of churning muddy water.
She wanted to back from the water, but she couldn't move, couldn't breathe. The sounds of screeching tires, horns, crunching metal, screams drifted from the highway above and then everything went black … blessedly, peacefully, dark and silent.
