This is the tale of 26 awesome women and the fantastic accomplishments that they achieved! But the main focus is helping your child learn their ABCs with the help of these brave and innovative women who did incredible things throughout history by connecting one lady with each letter of the alphabet.
While reading this book your kids will be learning 2 things at one time – early reading and alphabet skills, plus some historical facts about a few truly trailblazing women. This book is the perfect “girl power” book for young ladies but boys would enjoy it too, I believe.
Even adults might learn a few new things while reading this book with your child! I know I personally learned a lot while researching and writing this book myself. Plus, it makes a great present for birthdays, baby showers and many other occasions too.
Targeted Age Group:: baby to 8
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I am a lifelong reader and can remember toting around books even as a young child and making up stories about what was on the pages and telling them to my family long before I could even read, LOL. Then, years later, my love of books and music led me into teaching others all sorts of amazing things that can be found within the pages of books. So needless to say, storytelling is in my blood which eventually led to this book. I hope you enjoy!
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Through lots of research, both online and offline.
G is for Althea Gibson. In 1926, I was the first person of color to win the French Open, Wimbledon and U.S. Open tennis tournaments. I was also the first black woman on the LPGA golf tour.
