JT is an 8-year-old boy who loves every dog he’s ever met. But one day, JT meets a dog who doesn’t love him back. After a scary experience leaves JT sad and afraid, he finds the courage to overcome his fears with the help and love of a gentle puppy named Maggie. This story shows what’s possible when friends and family help one another, and the pride you can feel in yourself when you pay it forward. Be sure to review the Helpful Safety Tips at the end of the story with your child. Children will find the information and accompanying sketches easy to understand and practical for real time use.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I was inspired to write this book after our son experienced a dog bite when he was 8 years old. I not only wanted to share my son's story of resilience, but also wanted to provide parents and children with helpful safety tips at the end of my story for both discussion and practical use
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
My story is loosely based on real-life experiences, however, my characters and story are fictional.
But one day, JT met a dog he had never seen. He thought he looked friendly. Without asking the owner, JT reached out to pet him. "Ouch!" JT squealed. "That really hurt." After a trip to the hospital with his dad, JT went home to get better. Soon he was as good as new… or so he thought!
