A thousand specially selected people left a troubled Earth for a new start on a virgin world.
Their ship is state-of-the art and entirely automatic; it’s passengers safely sleeping through the journey – but something has gone wrong – something no one expected.
AL CLARK wakes to begin a new life, alone on a crippled starship with no memory of what transpired to place him there.
It is the beginning of a quest that will take him to places he could not have imagined, manage feats he would not have thought possible, and teach him the true value of friendship.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I'm a big fan of Arthur C. Clarke, so Al Clark is a tribute to his good old-fashioned style of writing. One book led to four.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
The characters are modeled from people I know. Al Clark is an everyday person struggling to help all the colonists to survive. Christopher is like my little brother.
He awoke gradually, a little at a time, swimming up from the abyss. His eyes opened to near total darkness, and all he saw was a small spot of light directly overhead. A tiny star surrounded by a velvety darkness. A single bright dot in the void that grew and expanded to fill his vision until he blinked, and it returned to a tiny pinhole of light. He could see just enough to determine he was lying in a box not much larger than his body. The soft glow from the pinhole over his head allowed just enough light to see cold dark metal surrounding him. Somewhere far away an alarm was sounding. His head swung back and forth frantically trying to understand, and fear grabbed at his heart as a disturbing realization surfaced. Where am I?
