Teddy's Boys: A WhyChoose Romance (Bad Boys of Bevington Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 143 ratings

In a world of magic and murder, trust is the most powerful spell.

I never wanted to leave Manchester. I was building my crew, my business, my future.

Then my family exiled me to another country, to Bevington College of Magickal Instruction. Just as I'm starting to find my footing, a fellow student turns up dead. Nothing about her death adds up, and I can't shake the feeling there's more going on beneath the surface.

Between trying to solve the murder, fending off my family's attempts to control my life, and dealing with Darwin—the entitled fae prince who seems hell-bent on stealing my new boyfriend—I've got my hands full. Oh, and did I mention I'm the only Earth witch in my year? Talk about feeling like an outsider.

But I'm Teddy Nowak. Nothing keeps me down. As I dig deeper into the darkness lurking beneath Bevington's ivory towers, I discover powers and allies I never knew I had. Now, if I can just figure out who to trust, I might survive my first year at Bevington.

They wanted to break me. Instead, they made me stronger. And I'm just getting started.

Publisher's Note: Teddy's Boys is a college-aged, MMFM, whychoose romance series. Books 1 and 2 end on cliffhangers. This book is intended for mature readers only.

I’m EJ and I’m on a mission to set your imagination (and other things) on fire.

Let’s face it, reality is … not great right now. In my stories, love conquers all, my heroes always save the day, and consent is super-sexy. My characters aren’t just names on the page. They’re the friends you wish you had, the lovers you dream about, and the villains you love to hate.

I’m a literary chameleon. One day I’m crafting suspenseful mysteries that will keep you turning pages all night. The next, I’m whisking you away to otherworldly realms where magic is real and every girl gets her dragon. No matter where the story takes us, a happy ending, and a healthy dose of steam, is always guaranteed.

If you’ve made it this far, you’re my kind of reader. Want an all-access pass to my chaotic worlds? Join me on Patreon. You’ll get exclusive stories, character deep-dives, monthly lives with me, and maybe, just maybe a say in whose story gets written next!

Life’s too short to read boring books. Let’s make it steamy, shall we?

This is an amazing book. I absolutely adore it. The banter between the characters is so witty and funny I couldn’t stop laughing. I love the FMC. Yes she is flawed but so strong and with such an amazing heart. This book was such an emotional rollercoaster. The ending had my heart in a vice. I love the intricacies of the world building and all the details that the reader is exposed to. The plots that comes through are fun and wonderfully paced to keep you fully engaged and immersed. I will be following this author closely from now on.

I am not familiar with this author and was blown away by how the story and characters pull you in. The story unfolds effortlessly; it comes to life on its own rather than feeling like words on a page.

Teddy is unapologetic and strong without being entitled or privileged; her interactions and dialogue are clever and fun. I freaking LOVE Gabe, what a sexy cinnamon roll. Charlie is fun but I don't know if it's possible to supercede Gabe.
I really don't see a path to redemption for our resident bully; I really hope he doesn't end up in the harem. Please pull a switcheroo with Mr Black!!

There are a few holes that I don't mind too much such as the logic/rules of magic (in many cases over explaining this detracts from the story anyway) and the fact that many characters never get names, they're just faceless support. And what's up with what Elliot said about Charlie? But they don't detract from the story if you can let it go.

Due to brain damage from MS, I don’t often read fantasy paranormal like I used to anymore, as I sometimes find it difficult to follow. However, I’m so glad I took the chance on this new magical offering from Author EJ Frost. I’m a huge fan of this author’s contemporary ero-romance — and she never disappoints. I had already preordered this title when an opportunity to read an ARC came my way — which I, of course, jumped on! And it was so good a story that I had to read it again just so I could write a review on my purchased copy! The interpersonal dynamics of these characters are great together, carefully balanced with distributed strengths and weaknesses and power and personality, which is not always the case in a polyamory romance. The book was incredibly realistic in tone, not over-the-top or overdone, the magical element cool and fun, and the world the author created was interesting and well-thought out. I highly recommend this college-aged/new adult (lightly bully-ish) paranormal-fantasy dark polyamory romance. I am excited to read BOOK 2 when it releases.

I have mixed feelings about this book. Til almost half way thru I actually hated the main female character. She’s trying to come off like a boss bitch but really just comes off as just a bitch. Shes too full of her self and seems to hate America. I made myself keep reading because there were really cool parts of the world building. Like earth walking, I really enjoyed the storyline when it came to the magic. I wouldn’t say it’s a reverse harem, 2 or her guys already had a thing going and it was like she was just the side piece. Overall I will continue reading the series because the story itself does hold my interest.

Wow! My first Reverse Harem bully romance. It was a lot. Frost does an amazing job of building a mystical society in a quick amount of time. It actually might have only felt quick because I fell into the story so easily. If you love a strong powerful h, who has a penchant for alphas, READ IT! Frost's fantasy books remind me a bit of Jaymin Eve. Super strong women who are backed by alpha men. Heroines that change and save their worlds. I highly recommend her books, and this one. It is a cliffhanger, but worth it.

Amazing book don’t let the language discourage you from reading it . At first I was getting little confused on some of the slang but I kept on reading and absolutely loved this book especially Gabe . Towards the end of the book is a definition to help if you have trouble looking a certain slang but after awhile you’ll start to understand 😁

Teddy finds herself at university in the US, alongside her best friend from the UK, Charlie. Following an argument, which causes a rift between them, she falls for Gabe, but he is being persecuted by Darwin, a fae prince.
Full of teenage angst, parental control and abuse, the main focus aside from Teddy's relationships, is the development and use of magic.
Exciting, romantic and engaging, this is the start of a series. Recommended.

I haven’t read anything by this author before and I will admit I thought this book was going to be a bit too much teenage angst for me but I was so very wrong. The book is spellbinding, beyond just its magical setting. There is a little bit of everything from witty banter to full on edge of your seat drama.
The book is full of action, darkness and light, magic and the tension builds and builds as the book goes on. I have so many questions and strands that I need more information about. I’m already looking forward to book 2.
The characters are layered, with both depths and human shallowness rolled together to make them compelling complex to read about. I really like Teddy she’s full of energy and sparks and her adventures could never be boring.

Well... what can I say? Hogwarts it ain't! Firstly, being a Brit myself, I love the expressions, and accents in this book (because I can hear them as I read), and feel like I really got absorbed within the pages! Teddy is all kinds of awesome. She's fearless, and fights for the people she cares about, and is a major badass heroine. Now onto the guys... Gabe... sigh... God among men. I want one. Charlie, such a sweet, but downright naughty boy. Darwin... yeah, yum with a capital YUM. The world building, the side characters, and everything within this book, are just perfection. And there are many laugh out loud moments, trust me!

I am not a huge PNR fan, but I really liked EJ Frost's contemporary books, and it particular her writing style, so I jumped at the chance to read this book.
It did not disappoint. I don't 5 star many books. They have to be exceptional. This one I read on my kindle and loved it so much I immediately ordered the paperback version.
EJ Frost has a rare talent. She's one of those authors who writes so well that you mourn the end of the book. DD/lg and PNR are not my favourite genres... and I detest cliffhangers. But this author's writing is so good that I forget all that. A true gift.
But really - hurry up with the next instalment! I can't wait.
