Rookie Move: A Friends To Lovers Baseball Romance (Bad Boys Of Summer Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 107 ratings

It’s my first pitch for the OKC Warriors.
They put their all-star batter in and I’ve seen enough plays to know he won’t swing on the first pitch.
Annnnd...he swings and knocks it out of the park.
Straight into the parking lot.
Which brings me to
Chelsea Brooks.
Geek extraordinaire. Beautiful, brainy and
not my type.
And she hates me.
Baseball from hell and all.
So why is she in my every thought?
Why do I see that
megawatt smile every time I close my eyes?
That first pitch of the season may have been a
rookie move but moving in on Chelsea isn’t.
She will be mine.
Too bad she doesn’t know it yet.

Love hot talkin' athletes who can melt your panties in thirty seconds or less?
Rookie Move is a full-length bad boy romance with a little bit of baseball and a whole lot of HEAT!
No cliffhanger and a very happy ending.

Two unlikely people who are so completely different are set up to meet by a friend of both. Him being a known baseball player and she is a nerdy programmer, so far apart. She is so against his antics, yet he isn’t deterred at all, if anything it makes him more determined. Can these two opposites come together, be there for each other and make it work or them? O, is this just a one time thing.

Rookie Move is the first book in the Bad Boys Of Summer series and is an enjoyable sports romance about Chelsea and Cody. These two have a chemistry that is undeniable, even as they banter back and forth trying to deny it. Cody is in his rookie year of playing professional baseball. He meets Chelsea as she is best friends with a young woman who is engaged to another player. There is an instant attraction and he starts the pursuit but Chelsea does not want to date an athlete. So let's just say that he is going to have to really hit it out of the park to get Chelsea. Her reluctance is not the only thing they will have to deal with and overcome. But in the end there is a home run and a sweet HEA.
I have read several books by KB Winters that I have enjoyed. This one is a bit different as it is the first sports romance so I was looking forward to seeing is the author was going to bring her "A" game or not. This story started out a bit slow and predictable but it was still addictive and a fun read.

I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

I really loved this first book in the “Bad Boys OfSummer” series. SLOW START..but then picked up and I got into the story. I thoroughly enjoyed the opposite personalities of the two characters and and how they finally got together. I appreciated how much Cody kept trying to fix their problems and bring Chelsea out of her shell. Chelsea was sweet and a very good match for Cody. I can’t wait to read the next book!

Cody is a professional baseball player and he is having a bad day when he meets Chelsea. Chelsea is also having a bad day because a ball he pitched and got hit went right into her windshield. So they don't hit it off at first. However Cody isn't ready to let that stop him from trying to win her over. Chelsea ends up at another game and Cody does really well at the game and things heat up between them later that night. Its the start of something between them. Cody wants it to be something but isn't sure what Chelsea wants. When his ex suddenly makes an appearance and starts making threats Cody doesn't know what to expect. Will his ex cause things to end with Chelsea? Can Chelsea see that Cody is the one for her?

This is an amazing story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is sizzling hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This book surprised me. I honestly didn't know if I was going to like it. It started out a bit slow and a bit predictable. And as it progressed, I found myself getting more and more into the book.

However, I kept waiting for the hammer to drop. The one thing that would break apart the entire fragile relationship they had because neither had committed to the other. Of course, you could tell who was going to be the catalyst of it and you knew it was coming. As soon as she was introduced, I knew she was going to be trouble.

While very similar to other books in this same trope, there are unique elements that I very much enjoyed. (Although after asking a friend who is an app developer about some things that were included, he did tell me that they were a bit exaggerated...and the fact that the female main character was an app developer was one of the things that drew me to the book so I was a bit disappointed.) It's a pretty solid story and while you could tell that there were a few holes and things that could have been more developed, it was overall a good read.

I just couldn’t get into this. Cody starts out as a total conceited ass, and even though he eventually gives a reason for the attitude he projects, I just couldn’t see his positive side. Chelsea gave in to him way too quickly. Too many F-bombs and too much use of the p-word and c-word for my taste.

Loved this book the first time around.

Cody is an up & coming star in baseball and Chelsea invent app code games. This book is about how they met with all the ups & downs of a new romance.
