This book was absolutely wonderful. It reads more like a series of blog posts than a self-help book, and is full of great advice for anybody who creates anything. It's a quick read, but one I know I will go back to again and again.

Motivate, inspire, create—whatever your passion! Wisdom for all aspects of life.

This is more than a guide. Dan Buri takes non-fiction “how-to” to the next level. His flowing prose will capture your attention, keeping it effortlessly focused on the beautiful, logical wisdom that he generously shares within the pages of this inspiring labor of love. A book requested by aspiring writers following his blog, this is a compilation of many years of creative thought and experience.

As a psychology major and an author, I can’t stress enough, however, that as helpful as this book is to creative types, any person anywhere would benefit from these pages simply by applying the wisdom found herein to their life journey. I recently read a self-help book on attaining happiness and joy in life—don’t let the title of Mr. Buri’s book fool you—it is just as relevant to all walks of life as it is to creatives, and easily falls into the self-help, self-improvement category.

Gift yourself a leg up on your life journey. Dive into this book and move forward—one step at a time—with a new zest for life and a motivational guide for fulfilling your purpose!

'40 Tips on Creative Writing' is an amazing read, from a brilliant 'author'.
This book is a 'must' read for any persons, the beginner, or the established writer, including
any persons contemplating a writers journey.
Author Dan Buri writes in a way that enables the 'reader' to feel drawn to the pages. He captures
the essence of a 'writers' emotional, and mental barrier, including the barriers projected from the
    physical world.
The quotes are well fitting, and demonstrate the knowledge behind the 'author'.
I highly recommend '40 Tips on Creative Writing', and utterly believe that it should be a
    'writers' handbook.
I am excited to read 'Pieces Like Pottery' by Author Dan Buri, and any upcoming material in
the future connected to this 'author'.

This is a fun, short book that serves as a good shot in the arm for indies out there looking to step up their game. These are not technical tips but motivational ones. The general thrust is to be kind to yourself, to find your voice, to take initiative, write for the love of writing, and place less stock in "expert" advice.

I've been a fan of Buri since reading his short story collection Pieces Like Pottery a few years ago. I'm glad he's written again, although (aside from a few classics) self-help/inspirational isn't my genre. The author does accomplish a witty and entertaining breath of fresh air every writer needs to get writing, and I hope he follows his own advice to someday soon produce another fantastic work of literary fiction.

This fantastic collection of thoughtful advice will help any writer keep their ink flowing. A deeply personal perspective on the art and craft of writing, this book will become a trusted companion on your journey from writer to author and beyond. Many of the tips presented here can apply not just to your writing life, but can be used to enrich your personal life and relationships as well. The author has managed to combine powerful writing tools with a philosophy so pervasive that you can apply it both business and personal life with impressive results.

With its eclectic and useful mix of specific tactics and general logic, it will easily become the most referred-to book in my collection of writing development tomes. Highly recommend!

Dan Buri’s latest book was written at the request of followers of his blog Nothing Any Good where he has been encouraging writers and handing out tips for some time. I would call this a motivational, rather than a How To, book. Dan Buri has a lovely, flowing writing style, blending friendliness with concise, practical information. I particularly liked Tips No 5 and 32.

If you need a push to motivate you to write, to set aside time to do so or to believe in your work, this book provides plenty of encouragement!
