About the author
I was born in Australia and upon reaching adulthood went on a working holiday from which I never returned. After seeing something of Europe and the Middle East I settled in London and started writing.
I now live an idyllic life in Wales.
The idea for Beyond the Island came to me in a dream. The story took several years to write and in 2012 became my first published novel.
In 2013 I published my second novel, New Voices in the Valley, which is set in Wales.
In May 2014 I travelled around Wales by bus and wrote Bus Pass Holiday: A Short Circuit.
In 2014 I also published Return to the Island, the sequel to Beyond the Island.
The sequel to New Voices in the Valley, entitled Scream at the Mountains, was published in November 2015.
Through 2015 and 2016 I resumed my travels, and Bus Pass Holiday #2: The Long and Short of It was published late in 2016.
Having attended a school reunion I put fingers to keyboard once again, and published Twenty Years On in November 2018. My schoolmates have nothing to fear - the characters are totally fictitious. Honest.
More novels are at the planning stage - watch this space.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 13, 2017My second trip with this author. I was looking forward to it. I used to holiday in Wales with my sisters and parents so the place names take me back to happy days filled with sunshine. Although Karenne Griffin is no spring chicken (I'm not either), her style of writing is uncomplicated and full of fun As I read, I want to be there on the bus, in the pub, sitting at a table in the (numerous) cafes, eating cake and sipping tea. There is something comforting in the observations she makes about ordinary people and places - choosing a new blouse, picking up a bargain tablecloth. Who knew that reading about Karenne giggling with a friend on a few days away could be so delightful? My only criticism is that the adventures are too short. I suppose I'll just have to wait for the next bus to come along.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspirational and Fun!! Read it!
Thoroughly enjoyed this book! As always in her writing, Karenne has the knack of bringing her work to life. I felt as though I was travelling along with her :D I could hear the rain (it is Wales, after all haha) against the window, see the seagulls wheeling above and smell the fish and chips at Barmouth. This book is inspirational - I hope they still do bus passes when I get to 60 :D - and informative with some humour to boot! Take my advice and give it a read! Thanks for an entertaining ride Karenne :)
