Turpitude (A Harem Boy's Saga Book 4) Kindle Edition

4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 46 ratings

Turpitude is the fourth book to A Harem Boy’s Saga, a provocative story about a young man who was initiated into a clandestine sexual society through his UK boarding school. From there, he was spirited to the Middle East to attend the Bahriji (Oasis) School in The United Arab Emirates in preparation for Harem services for the wealthy elite. It is also a love story between the young man, his ‘Big Brother,’ and his ‘Valet,’ who served as his chaperones and mentors. This book follows the teenagers’ erotic and exotic adventures and experiences at their fourth Arabian Household, the Assalamu Alaikum (Peace Be with You) Harem. There, they became confidants to a sheik, assistants to his numerous international ventures, especially that of a film production: “Kāmasūtra - Lover’s Tale.” The teenagers continue to apprentice and model in a controversial photography project, “Sacred Sex in Sacred Places.” This story is an account of the author’s experiences. Through these truths, often demonized by contemporary societies that deem such behaviors inappropriate, the author hopes to dispel condemnation and negativity related to sexuality, love, and personal freedom.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very special story By ocmd VINE VOICE on September 12, 2016 Format: Kindle Edition I devoured the first three books in the Harem Boy s Saga and eagerly awaited this fourth chapter. The beautifully written memoir is a very special narrative about the personal experiences of the author, a gay male trained to serve in a harem. He gives us a peek into a life very different from the mainstream and unknown to most of us. His descriptions of the exotic locations he s traveled add to the story. This is a long book, but I read it in record time and I can t wait for the next in the series. --Amazon Reviews

5.0 out of 5 stars An Exotic~Erotic Life Described in Brilliant Rich Detail By PA Jiuditta on September 18, 2016 Format: Kindle Edition Close your eyes and imagine a world vibrant with color, a banquet for the senses, exotic, erotic, a sumptuous indulgence fulfilling your every desire. Imagine it draped in beauty: beautiful fabrics, opulent jewelry, romantic locales from around the world where whatever you desire can be yours if you are a beautiful boy. Do that and you have entered the world of Bernard Foong who has chronicled his life in a series of books titled A Harem Boy s Saga, an other-worldly lavish diary of a young boy indoctrinated into the world of a underground sexual society. As Westerners, we will be shocked by the revelations, the peek behind the secret veils, which would normally strike us as inappropriate, bordering abusive but quickly striped of our predisposed notions, we slip luxuriously into the world of lavish opulence and a love story of exciting proportions which is the author s life. A very accomplished and talented designer, Mr. Foong uses his complete design palette to describe his life in elegant, flowing words richly and artistically strung together like opulent jewels to describe the canvas of his life in rich, vibrant, magnificent palatable color. Oh, to have lived such a life. The sheer read of Turpitude, the fourth book in the series, is a spectacular indulgence in the series you dare not deny yourself. --Amazon Reviews

5.0 out of 5 stars Adult LGBT fare for the discriminating By Convoke on September 23, 2016 Format: Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase In this fourth book in the Harem Boy series, Young delivers a tale as sensual, steamy, and adventurous as ever. The author claims these stories are gathered from his own experience, and having read them, I believe him. Like a Tales of 1001 Nights for the 21st century, the story gives us glimpses into another world that coexists with our own. This and the other books in the series are for sophisticated readers and LGBT readers. This time, we follow the provocative story of a teen-aged boy initiated into a clandestine sexual society in the UK, then taken to the United Arab Emirates in preparation for a career as a Harem boy for the wealthy. Although at times this series reads like erotic fantasy, it has a depth of experience and expertise seldom revealed and a look at the Middle Eastern world seldom seen by outsiders. --Amazon Reviews

"Young alias Bernard Foong is, first and foremost, a sensitivist. He finds nuance in everything. To experience the world he inhabits is an adventure which is mystical, childlike and refreshing. He has a rare ability to create beauty in a unique fashion. His palettes have been material, paint, words and human experiences.

While attending an elite private school in England, some 40 years ago, he was swore into a clandestine sexual society that soon spirited him away to the Middle East to serve in several wealthy and aristocratic harems. He never thought he would be telling his story, but he believe now is the correct time to share his unique experiences.

Although his story is a titillating and an evocative account of the author's adolescent life. It is also a love story between he and his chaperone, Andy, a few years his senior. He was allocated by the School to be the boy's mentor. Both were born into wealthy and privileged families.

He had taken the liberty to change the names of the secret society, people, and places to protect their identities, but had given a truthful and positive chronicle of his harem experiences."

Society defines us, whether we bend to its rules, standards, follow the flow and succeed like its dar-lings, or veer off the wonted course. As outcasts, rebels, and non-fitters, we often define its mem-bers as of a cult, a sect within a society where these minorities live by their own rule, will, and deci-sion-making.

Young is one such individual; a brave young man from Kuala Lumpur, who consciously opened the curtains to a harem life and willingly embraced it. In his unique and uncensored memoir A Harem Boy’s Saga, he stripped himself naked to those willing to see and read the structure of his muscula-ture—the bones of his thoughts, desires, emotions and carnal pleasures.

Turpitude is the fourth book in a series of seven volumes. Young withholds no secrets as he narrates his tale about his sexual and spiritual adventures with men throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia in the late 1960s and 70s. Are the stories provocatively shocking? Yes! If you picture a young man's life differently; one who was initiated into a clandestine sexual society via his UK boarding school and trained to serve in Middle Eastern harems and to pleasure the wealthy and elite.

This book is also honest and worthy of respect because Young is never ashamed of his desires, needs and his unfading love for Andy, his 'Big Brother,' his 'Valet,' guardian and mentor; whom he corre-sponds presently where they reflect on the events of 45 years ago.

Young's writing is sensual, erotic and sophisticated. Even when he worships the male body and the carnal act, he does that with a gentlemanly approach. Hence his Turpitude experiences do not come across as pornographic or vulgar, but a testimony of a different lifestyle that is vastly different from the social norms which most westerners are not accustomed to. This life is abundantly rich with eve-rything: wealth, colors, smells, philosophy, spirituality, eroticism and of course, sex.

I'm sure Young expects his memoirs to be judged and criticized for his erotic, exotic adventures and experiences at the Assalamu Alaikum (Peace Be with You) Household. This young man soon rose to the rank of an assistant to the sheik's numerous international ventures. This too would be a controversy for die-hard representatives of Orthodox cultures.

Young iterated at the end of the book: For four years, unbeknownst to my family, I was willingly and happily part of a Harem. My story has been kept under wraps for close to 45 years. The correct mo-ment has arrived for me to make known my unique education. In his epilogue, the author wrote: Though these truths are often demonized by contemporary societies that deem such behaviors inap-propriate, the author hopes to dispel condemnation and negativity related to sexuality, love, and per-sonal freedom.

My final question would be: Who is pure enough to cast the first stone?

This was such an amazing, exquisite book. It was quite educational, because I didn’t know such a world existed. Young poured his heart and soul on to each page, sharing the most intimate parts of his life with brutal honesty. Turpitude is the 4th book in the series and it takes the reader on an unforgettable adventure. The bond between Young and Andy was special. Young’s writing beckons the reader to follow him on this sensual, spiritual journey and I, for one, am glad I went. It was a hell of a ride.

Young is about to embark on his fourth tour of duty, serving as a harem boy in the households of rich and powerful Arab men. His guardian-lover Andy is still by his side to protect the teenager. This time their master is Sheik Fahrib, the childhood friend and now lover of the boys' previous host Prince ‘P.’ The Sheik's life is complicated, to say the least, and navigating the politics of his master's household will provide a new challenge for Young.

In this fourth volume of the autobiography about a young man's sexual awakening in the 1960s, we're definitely seeing a pattern emerge. In each of the households they serve, Young and Andy meet the man who will be their master for the next term. While I still have my doubts about how much of this autobiography is really true, the notion that Young is essentially passed around among a group of close friends makes the story a bit more plausible. The secret EROS group might just be an invention or exaggeration to put a more legitimate front on what amounts to human trafficking.

As in the previous books, scenes recounting the young man's increasingly adventurous sexual liaisons are alternated with stories about the lessons he receives from the rather unconventional tutors that his masters hire for him and the other “exchange” students. Many of the sessions recounted in this volume revolve around philosophy, tackling questions such as the difference between sex and love. There's also quite a lengthy discussion about transcendental meditation, which was just becoming popular at the time. We also hear a bit more directly from Andy as he and Young reconnect during the writing of the series. The two trade stories about some of the adventures they've had since parting ways after school.

I couldn't help feeling a little melancholy when reading this installment of the series. Whether the author really met the people mentioned or not, this entire series has driven home what an exciting time the 1960s were. Young and his friends are at the forefront of the sexual revolution. Granted, he's there through association with some very rich and powerful people, but it's a reminder of how far things came in just that decade. It's especially poignant in light of recent losses that have rolled back many of the achievements in rights and liberations. Of course, it wasn't all good. The Vietnam War isn't mentioned at all, but then almost none of the story takes place in the United States. The mention of Transcendental Meditation also reminded me there was a lot of silliness in that decade as well.

Haven’t read the first three. So this book took me into a world I have no knowledge of. I believe this is autobiographical which means the author has led quite some life! Written with charm as well as a sexual, emotional and erotic honesty this book takes us through situations and experiences that most of us will never experience.
