Ruthless (Ruthless Series Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars 32 ratings

Corporate life just became deadly. Succeed or seek salvation...

When career-driven Ruth lands a seemingly perfect job at GlobalCore - a chic yet mysterious corporation, she prepares to deliver her cold and merciless brand of Human Resource Management. But there is something different about this company…

Ruth soon finds herself climbing the corporate ladder but this time, to save her tainted soul. She must compete with industrious angels, hell-bent on success, as she struggles with her new eternal occupation that redefines “employee termination”.

Follow Ruth as she delivers damning evaluations to the most wretched souls California has to offer. These aren’t the mild-mannered office workers Ruth is used to firing, these employees are rotten to the core, and they won’t be leaving without a fight.

Ruthless is the first book in the Ruthless Series, followed by Heartless and Soulless.

Picked up this book on a whim when searching for another title and was very pleasantly surprised! Very easy to read yet very hard to put down, especially after the third chapter.

The only downside is having to wait for the sequel to be published to discover what awaits our heroine Ruth ...

Buy it - you won't be disappointed.

I don't normally read a lot of fiction, and when i do it is normally hard core science fiction/fantasy, however i really enjoyed reading Ruthless. It is nice and easy to read yet has a reasonably complex plot that is subtly different to other similar style fiction books. I read it on a plane trip recently and before i knew it, the book was finished and the flight was over and i hadn't even realised i had been sitting in cattle class! Worth a read and i will be buying the sequels - great job Esther!

I was really engaged with this book the whole way though. The authors style of writing is descriptive and creative, that combined with a fast paced story line. Had me wanting to turn the pages before I finished them. I'm now hooked and can't for the next book.

A most extraordinary idea has been presented in a way that makes the whole premise seem credible. The protagonist is a thoroughly unlikeable person, who nevertheless lives by her own strict set of values, so that our sympathy for her grows as both her and our realisation of what is really happening unfolds. I look forward very much to the other two books in the trilogy.

The story line is unique: I love books that are different and this certainly is. Lots of imagination which I find refreshing - not your typical "love yarn" or "who done it". Can't imagine what the next installment has in store. Buy it, you'll love it.

Ruthless kept me guessing all the way to end of the book,I cannot wait for the next one, anyone who reads this book would of at some stage of their working career be able to relate to Ruth Wroth's character.
