In Your Corner: This Fighter Has One Last Chance at Claiming the Woman He's Always Loved (Redemption Book 2) Kindle Edition
A Publishers Weekly Best Summer Book
"You have to go. I won't be able to control myself. I've wanted you so bad for so long and after I've been in the cage…I can't think straight." He gives a guttural groan and his fist clenches on my hip.
Primitive. Primal. His need speaks to me. I tighten my grip on his neck and rock up to kiss him. He takes over. His kiss is hard and demanding.
"Mine." His voice is raw, savage and for a moment I truly believe he may lose control.
He rules in the ring
Two years ago, Jake and Amanda were going hot and heavy. But when Jake wanted more, Amanda walked away. Jake immersed himself in mixed martial arts, living life on the edge. But that didn't dull the pain of Amanda's rejection—until a chance encounter throws them together.
A high-powered lawyer, Amanda was a no-strings-attached kind of girl. But two years after her breakup with Jake, she still hasn't found anyone who gets her heart pumping the way he did. And then he shows up in her boardroom, hot as sin and needing help...
But can he rule her heart?
Jake is darker, sexier, and impossible to resist. As their chemistry builds, Amanda's not sure if she can stay in control, or if she's finally willing to let him claim her body and soul.

"There's plenty to keep readers coming back for more..." -RT Book Reviews
"Sometimes, what makes romances such a success is their willingness to confront reality and embrace fairytales, and Sarah Castille is a master of these kinds of romantic fantasies. Her hero is at once gentle, insightful, and at the same time a thoroughly dominant alpha who can fulfill his heroine's every desire, both physical and emotional. Because of their growing bond, the courage and self-assurance they develop, all other aspects of their life begin to prosper, as well. The result is a story that is fulfilling on a number of levels and offers an emotional, but ultimately rewarding journey for both of the main characters. This is quite a fitting follow up to this gritty, sizzling series, and I have no doubt that Sarah Castille is only going to keep giving readers precisely what they crave as this series continues to unfold. I, for one, can't wait for book three!"- The Romance Reviews
"In Your Corner was a great love story; messy as hell, but to be honest sometimes those are the best kind because they keep you entranced, excited, and leave you wanting the next book" - Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews
"Steamy and sexy, the characters and the story will have readers enthralled." - Bookaholics Romance Book Club
"Like its predecessor, Against the Ropes, In Your Corner is a hot contemporary romance with a little bit of everything for a wide variety of readers. For myself, the Redemption series is MMA fiction done right." - RoloPoloBookBlog

- Reviewed in the United States on March 17, 2015So I just finished In your corner and I cannot stop grinning!! She did it again! This is such an amazing book! You must go out and buy or download this book immediately if you love Sexy, Protective, Alpha MMA fighter Heroes and Funny, Strong Woman Heroines! Sarah Castille writes such great characters that you are truly swept away in her stories, main-character's and sub-character's. Her knowledge of MMA is impressive and I watch UFC so I know. We start this story two years after where Against The Ropes left off with Makayla's best friend Amanda still working as an junior associate attorney trying to make partner. Jake runs into her looking to hire an attorney only to see that said attorney is none other than his former lover Amanda so he leaves her office. No later is she dealing with being sexually harassed at her workplace and quits. While learning to deal with becoming jobless for the first time, getting a new job, filing a civil lawsuit against a Huge law firm and being a disappointment in her parents eyes Amanda is also trying to figure out how to have a "love life like her best friend" without getting hurt especially after what she did to Jake two years prior. I enjoyed Jake and Amanda in the first book and fell in love all over again with them in this one! You don't have to read Against The Ropes to read this book but it helps to understand their story. They were always hot and heavy but as Amanda got scared she pulled away and hurt Jake badly. They go back and forth between helping each other but their story evolves from the little bit we knew of them in Against The Ropes. We learn more about Jake and Amanda's life and why she has such a commitment issue and pushed Jake away only to have a friends w/benefits relationship with Dr.Drake. Yes, he is also back at Redemption so prepare for some death stares & fights between the alpha males. :) We get to enjoy all the Redemption MMA men again also YEAH!!! from Rampage, Blade Saw, Homicide Hank, Shilla the Killa to a new guy Fuzzy and all the fun & hilarity at the gym that follows. Will Jake forgive Amanda for how he found her and Drake? Will Drake and Amanda go another round and end up together? Will Amanda fight or run from her problems at her work? Will Jake end up a MMA Fighter or will his Family obligations take him in another direction? Will He find Love? What's in store for this whole crowd of sexy fighters and what's next?... You have to read to find out.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2015Jake & Amanda were secondary characters in Makayla & Max's book, but I read their book first, and even after going back to read Against the Ropes, they are still my favorite couple. These two can hit such a sweet note, it just gets to me. :D
The book has a fantastic story - it was interesting, passionate, and kept me turning the pages.
Amanda is a young attorney, who was moving up the ranks in the law firm she joined until she opted not to earn a promotion the easy, nah - make that the sleazy way. After her ex and some of the Redemption fighters save her from getting beaten and potentially raped, her assailants bring a case against them and Amanda finds herself working for... herself. She represents the fighters and decides to save her reputation by taking on her former employer; add the signs of a budding relationship with Jake and Amanda is suddenly dealing with a lot more than she bargained for.
I LOVED getting into her head and her reactions to the fighters, the lawyers, and her would-be harem. I loved Amanda as a character, and I want to know more about her past, her friendship with Mac, her pro-bono cases, her training... I have pretty much nothing in common with her, but I connected right away and I would totally read another book about Amanda, even *gasp* without Jake. That says a heckuva lot to me about the strength of the character and the author's writing. :)
Jake has his own demons to fight- family, career vs passion, and of course Amanda, and I think the book suffers from a lack of his POV.
In fact, that's pretty much what made me knock off a star. Not POV necessarily, but Jake. Specifically, Jake's inability to simply TALK to Amanda. For someone who's supposed to come off (maybe?) as a Dom, he doesn't have any clue about how to handle his sub. Amanda's big issue is a fear of disappointing people so much that they give up on her. This is not a spoiler, she explains it early on and repeats it through the entire book.
And yet for a long time she has no idea where she stands with him because he doesn't tell her. She tells him that she's confused and doesn't know what he wants, and he comes back with lines like, "I can't go further until I know I've got all of you." Since we know they're working towards a nice HEA, we understand what he means. Amanda doesn't. He leaves her thinking he can't get over their breakup, but also driving her crazy with physical touches that go nowhere. So Jake comes off as a jerk who's messing with her head when he thinks he's made it clear that he's just taking things slowly to keep from screwing things up. :(
The whole "in your corner" concept is a good one, but between the characters, it's Amanda who needs to learn how to believe that Jake is the one in her corner, while his goal is to convince her that he will stay there no matter what. But when it's time for The Big Conflict, it's Amanda trying to prove that she's in Jake's corner, and the metaphor doesn't really make sense. We haven't spent the entire book dealing with his trust issues, and it fell a little flat.
It would have helped a LOT to have Jake's POV so that when we do learn about all of his problems, we could appreciate his successes that much more. That being said, it in no way ruins the book. I pick up my kindle to look for my highlights and find myself reading the paragraphs and even chapters around them. I'm pretty sure I've already read it a second time, just in a mixed up order. >.<
- Reviewed in the United States on July 1, 2014In Your Corner (Redemption #2) was a fantastic read; It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me oh so hot! In Your Corner continues to explore the relationship between Amanda and Jake which started in the first Redemption book Against the Ropes. I found myself drawn into the story and unable to put it down. Not only did I get caught up in the wonderful chemistry between the main characters of Jake and Amanda, but the secondary characters are so well written I found myself wanting to know more about their lives too (Redemption #3 maybe). I am so glad to have discovered Sarah Castille's writing--such an enjoyable read. I look forward to reading more of Ms. Castille's books in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars In Your Corner
Another great story from Sarah! This was a story about second chances and moving forward with your life. Both main characters were likable with their strong personalities. I especially liked Amanda's humor throughout the book and her ability to stand up for herself no matter how much the odds were stacked against her. The only thing that would have made this better for me was that I really would have liked to have seen Amanda's case go to court and have more action/conflict in that part of the story instead of being quickly solved and tied in a bow. It just seemed too quick and I didn't feel justice was truly served. Other than that, this was another great story for this series and I highly recommend it! If you're new to this series I definitely recommend reading the 2 stories prior as they are not to be missed!

5.0 out of 5 stars *Absolutely Loved it! *
In Your Corner is a tantalising hot read, exposing you to feel raw emotions, romance, love, sensual airs and angst as Jake and Amanda reunite, leaving you with memories of scorching hot erotic scenes as Jake takes control. The Redemption crew of old and new faces supplied abundant jokes to crack me up, and left me feeling the warmth of this loving crew! Two years ago Jake walked away from Amanda broken hearted, prior to their break up they were a hot and heavy couple who were unable to keep their hands off each other, both sneaking away at any opportune moment at the Redemption club which brought them together when their passion and need for the other increased. Jake was such a sweet, sexy, affectionate and gentle guy whose love for Amanda spoke volumes on his commitment towards her, but when Amanda refused to accept Jake's feelings as nothing more than a casual hook up, Jake was left feeling raw and hurt hoping that giving her time and space would make her realise she needed him as a constant in her life as much as he needed her. Little did Jake know that his words would cause Amanda to lose him as she mistook his absence as a sign of rejection, leading her regrettably to Dr Drake and a heart broken Jake to witness on. Two years on and time apart still couldn't extinguish the intense burning flame yearning to be re-ignited, as Jake and Amanda locked eyes when work crossed their paths. The strong chemistry between Jake and Amanda filled the air with so much raw emotions and lay heavy in tension, kept apart by memories of heartache from reaching out and consuming their passion. The old Jake and Amanda were gone and before them stood a guarded man and a vulnerable woman, both hiding behind façades to blanket their pain. I loved Jake in Against the Ropes but In Your Corner he was totally the swoon worthy alpha male package that had me crushing on him hard. Jake dominated the pages with his primal need and love for Amanda, pushing past his own hurt once he witnessed Amanda's controlling parents demeaning her. Jake was finally able to get a glimpse into Amanda's life, encouraging his feelings to surface and finding himself unable to stay away. His excuses to see Amanda created butterflies and left me amused and excited as her walls of independence began to crumble, finding herself jobless and allowing her friends to step in and support her. I loved how Jake and Amanda found their way back to each other getting past their hurt and letting down their defences, seeing Jake come back stronger in his fight for Amanda to submit to their love and get the memo that she was always his girl. I was smiling throughout as Amanda lost control to Jake as he healed her pain, both working through issues alone but brought together in their love and trust to forever be in each other's corner.

4.0 out of 5 stars This one left me satisfied … and with a book hangover considering I was up until 4am to finish it !
In Your Corner features Amanda and Jake, who were recurring characters in the first novel. Because much of their back story as a couple is referenced in Against the Ropes, I would strongly suggest you read these books in order.
Castille writes entirely from the heroine's perspective in this series, seemingly uncommon of late, which helps the reader to develop a deep understanding of her female character, but Jake remains a bit of an enigma. I wish that we could have had more of the book devoted to him. Usually when a book is read, I feel as if I know the characters as friends, but Jake would be an acquaintance at best.
The heroine, Amanda, is a lawyer and you get to know her much more thoroughly. The author herself was a lawyer in her previous career so I found this to be a very interesting perspective and - at least to me - there were no glaringly obvious mistakes in the legal arena. The level of detail helped to create the character's world and bring it to life because it was well-written and believable. I also loved that Amanda had a noticeably - but not obnoxiously - higher vocabulary than any other character in the series, which makes sense 'cause hello! Lawyer! This was one of those little things that stuck with me and shows that the author is improving as a writer and cared enough to make sure that Amanda was distinct from the other characters in the series.
In Your Corner introduces a whole new cast of supporting characters to draw from. Amanda quickly opens her own legal firm after unpleasantness at her previous company, and her main P.I. and assistant follow her. Because everything is written from Amanda's perspective, you get to know these new characters very well.
I would like to see the author expand on the emotional intricacies of a D/s relationship in later novels. Although the dynamic is present in this couple, as well as between Torment and Makayla in book 1, it hasn't really been explored to my satisfaction. I think this would be a great next avenue for her to explore.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not as funny as the first, but still enjoyable
Amanda is a more sober narrator than Makayla, so the book doesn't have the bounce and verve of the first one. However, both she and Jake are really likeable, and the writer's legal background gives nice detail to the legally centred plot.
I can hear Penny's droll scouse way of speaking coming through in the text, which is quite impressive for an American writer.
