It’s been a magical ride living in New York City. I hope to experience more adventures! I’ve been living in this city for over 20 years and I just thought it’d be a fun challenge to create a fictional version of some of my experiences in dating and being single here in the Big Apple.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
My friend asked my why I was still single at my age? I know she meant well but it really stung being judged. I wanted to write about how I felt and why being single at my age was completely wrong? During this process of fictionalizing my experiences, I looked back on them and came to certain conclusions I wanted to share with people possibly going through the same experience I was.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
I based my characters on my friends, people I've encountered and obviously myself. This book is loosely based on my real life encounters and enjoyed the process of fictionalizing them and the characters.
Why does it feel like I’ve failed just because I’m not married, or don’t have a boyfriend/partner, or don’t have kids, or never divorced? I viewed New York as the metropolis of the world, where the party never stops, the money keeps flowing and bottles keep popping! It’s open 24/7, it’s the city to justify being single no matter what age. Yet being in my 40s AND single I feel redundant. I mean, am I supposed to keep partying? Or stay in my apartment, and eat alone at restaurants? When I was in my 20s and 30s I felt empowered doing things alone, but now I feel judged and pitied. Living in the city that never sleeps points out that if you’re sleeping then you’re getting older. And even worse, if you’re sleeping ALONE, well you may as well never wake up. So am I really happy…
