Author Bio:
Known by the father of my high school friend as “the strange girl who lives down the street” I have always been fascinated by the oddest things. For example, unusual insects and plants, UFOs, ghosts and mythical creatures. Even my Out Loud – Amplified Whispers blog is full of the unusual. Born a wee bit before the official computer age, my original writings were via pen to paper and I have boxes full of handwritten oddities. While the second book release doesn’t qualify as an oddity, it shares my personal journey as a Yankee in the South during the 1970s and 1980s at a time when women just didn’t go forth on their own in heart of Dixie. Words have flowed since the sixties and the first official writing was in honor of the television series The Flying Nun starring Sally Field. Something about Sally flying around with her nun’s hat as her “wings” and looking down over the cliff triggered the words. Since then, my articles and stories have appeared in a variety of newspapers and magazines including Creative Loafing newspaper, the Atlanta Constitution Journal newspaper, Complete Woman magazine, Dance Connection magazine, Hopscotch magazine, The World of Business Kids, Purple Cow newspaper, and the Fishwrap Magazine in which I wrote a monthly article. My articles have appeared on dozens of internet websites, most of which are dog-related but a few others as well. While I’ve been publishing articles and stories off and on for 25 years, I’ve only recently begun to publish books. The best sample you can get of my writing style is to read my blog. Followers of my Out Loud – Amplified Whispers blog can read about why short, bald people will be taken up in the rapture, how laughter is a brain disease, and my own personal favorite: the photographic diary of a dot on a dog’s nose, which is a must for any true dog nerd.
