What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
My inspirations for my books come from numerous sources. They can come from people I meet, and conversations I have, etc. The World Inside Stephanie’s Head was inspired by the words of wisdom and encouragement of J.C.B. It really did start by seeing a movie.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
My characters have different personality traits of people I know or have known throughout my life. Sometimes I embellish on a trait I have seen to make a character stand out. I believe that some traits are ones I find in myself as well.
Stephanie had a nice quiet, sheltered life. She enjoyed it for the most part, but there was a side of her that wanted more. Who knew it would take a friend bringing her to a movie one night, to change her life forever.
“Hey.” Greg said entering the kitchen.
“Morning.” Stephanie replied, pouring herself a cup of coffee.
“So we are going to see this movie tonight, right Steph?” Greg asked, giving a questioning stare.
Stephanie laughed then replied “I will not bail on you tonight. I promise.”
Stephanie walked out of the kitchen and sat at her computer.
“We’ll see.” Greg said, walking over and kissing Stephanie on the forehead and then heading towards the door.
Greg stopped and faced Stephanie.
“Oh, and by the way Mr. 4g kicked out his live in.” Greg smiled and raised his eyebrows.
Stephanie smiled a half smile rolled her eyes and shook her head.
“Go to work.” Stephanie laughed.
“I’m just saying.” Greg laughed, walking out the door
Stephanie stared blankly at the screen for a moment, and then her fingers started to move across the keyboard.
Her dream to get published would have to wait. For now she would help others realize their dream by proofreading and editing. She worked long into the afternoon without a break. Her dedication won favor with the publishing company she worked for, but didn’t leave room for much else. Working from home was a luxury not many in her position could obtain, but with what had happened to her just a few short years ago left her with no other choice. The company would rather have her work from home than lose her altogether. Stephanie enjoyed it for the most part, but there was a side of her that wanted more.
She looked at the clock. “I better get ready.” Stephanie sighed.
Greg would be home soon, and she had been trying by his request to get out of the house more.
Greg was a great guy. He was always sweet to Stephanie. Always taking care of her, and keeping her safe. He was about six foot tall, and had sort of a sports star muscular build to him. His business style brown hair made him appear more a company man than he actually was.
Stephanie knew that if it wasn’t for him she would be trapped in that abusive relationship she used to be in or not alive at all. Stephanie saved her work and went to her room to get ready.
