What inspires you to write?
I am mostly inspired by real life in my contemporary stories and by real people and historical events in my historical romances. Most of my stories contain a strong dose of reality.
Tell us about your writing process.
I never plan a book because my best ideas always come to me at random. My writing process is also unplanned. The characters speak and I write.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I listen and try to stay out of the way!
What advice would you give other writers?
Write what you are most passionate about and it will come through on the page.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
am definitely a hybrid author as I began in historical fiction with a traditional/legacy publisher but soon thereafter decided to write romance. I have since completed nineteen novels and novellas, published with five different publishers as well as work that I have independently published. I will continue to Indie pub any story that I feel compelled to write that may not fit the publisher’s mold.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I’m apprehensive about all the uncertainty. The market is over-saturated with books. We are all working harder and earning less.
