Get the Monkey Off Your Back

Food is a drug. Break the shackles of addiction and learn to eat air! In this detailed guide, Dr. Robert Jones, MD, PhD, DDS, ODD gives you the practical, step-by-step advice you need to transition to the air-only diet.

Common Questions About the Air-Only Diet:

Q: Eating air? Are you crazy?

A: I am a medical doctor with more than forty years of clinical experience. An Obesity Epidemic is sweeping across our great nation. Eating air is the answer.

Q: Isn’t there a risk of malnutrition?

A: Not at all! Air contains all the vitamins, minerals, electrolytes and essential amino acids your body needs.

Q: A friend of mine went on the air-only diet and starved to death. Will I die too?

A: Lies, lies and more lies! Propaganda spread by the agro-business special interests that run Washington. They will do anything to keep you down, in ignorance of the truth!

A Million Dieters Can’t be Wrong!

Every day the emails pour in:

“Thank you, Dr. Robert Jones, MD, PhD, DDS, ODD! Oh, thank you! I’ve eaten nothing but air for the last two months and I’ve lost eight hundred pounds! My husband says I’ll make a fine skeleton! I can’t wait!!!”

“Damn this air is tasty.”

“Dear Dr. Jones, What a discovery! You make Einstein look like an ignoramus. We hereby award you the Prizes for Medicine, Chemistry and Peace.” –the Nobel Committee

Also in This Groundbreaking Diet Book:

Lunge and Chomp — Learn the Secrets of Air-Eating Technique!
The Twelve Steps to Food Freedom — Anyone Can Do It!
The Hidden Menace in Our Society That Can Prevent You From Eating Air — and How We as a Nation Can Overcome It!

About the Author

An acclaimed pioneer in the field of Airitarianism, Dr. Robert Jones, MD, PhD, DDS, ODD has dedicated his life to freeing food-eaters from slavery to addictive caloric substances. That’s why he wrote Food-Free at Last–to expose the truth the agro-business special interests don’t want you to know. And that’s why he’s running for President in 2013. It’s time to put this country on a diet–the air-only diet, the only diet proven to work. It’s time to cure our great nation of the Obesity Epidemic sweeping from coast to coast. It’s time to end the oligarchy’s influence on our political process and bring true freedom back to America. Go the Power of Air!

Targeted Age Group: all
Genre: political satire

What was your inspiration for this book?
After completing my novel, The United States of Air: a Satire, my editor suggested I write this spin-off title as a way to promote the book. But Food-Free at Last has taken on a life of its own, and has become more popular than The United States of Air!

When you wrote the book did you know you were going to offer it as an audio book?
No.

Why did you decide to produce an audio book?
As a self-published author, it is very difficult to compete in a sea of a million other self-published titles. A quality audiobook, however, especially author-narrated, has the potential to lift me out of the Churning Amazon Sea and gain visibility.

How did you choose the reader for the book and the production company?
Recording and producing an audiobook at home is not for everyone. It requires a blend of acting and technical skills that not every author possesses.

In my case, I’ve trained and worked as an actor, and love spending time in front of the microphone. Plus, I worked as a computer programmer for many years, and have strong technical aptitude, so it was not terribly challenging for me to learn how to use all the requisite software.[/gravityforms]

If someone is thinking about creating an audio book, what advice would you give them?
Recording and producing your own audiobook is a labor of love. It’s also a massive time sink. Don’t do it unless you love it. If it starts to feel like work, stop. Better to hire someone else than to produce a bad audiobook.

What else would you like to share with readers about your audio book?
This is a fun little satire with a serious message behind it. It will–I hope–make you laugh out loud. But it should also make you think.

“Cherries” is a story about a young, naive, teenage soldier who is sent to Vietnam, with others his age, to fight in an unpopular war. Dubbed “Cherries” by their more seasoned peers, these newbies suddenly found themselves thrust in the middle of a nightmarish scenario for which not even their worst dreams could prepare them; as such, they were hardly ready to absorb the harsh mental, emotional, and physical toll that the conflict would eventually take on them. Literally forced to become men overnight, the Cherries had to learn quickly to make life-or-death decisions, the consequences of which not only impacted their own lives – but also those of their fellow soldiers. This is a story about their rite of passage

Targeted Age Group: 13+
Genre: Historical Fiction / Military / Vietnam War

What was your inspiration for this book?
In 1985, I joined the local chapter of Vietnam Veterans of America. During family functions, members congregated and shared stories about their tour of duty. Wives often felt out of place during these discussions and soon migrated to other areas to discuss issues they had in common – leaving the men to talk about war. At that time, “Cherries” was a rough, first-person draft, and I donated a copy for the wives to read and pass around. It was a learning experience for all of us, and wives soon returned to our story telling sessions – having a much improved understanding of the jargon and acronyms – no longer feeling like outsiders. Many war veterans keep their experiences buried deep inside, either unwilling to share or unable to do so. I have received numerous accolades from veterans – thanking me for putting into words a story they’ve been unable to tell. “Cherries” has become a conduit for many veterans and their families…allowing them to come out from the dark and heal. This was my motivation for writing this novel.

When you wrote the book did you know you were going to offer it as an audio book?
Not at all!

Why did you decide to produce an audio book?
I had traveled a lot for my employer a couple of years ago and got interested in listening to audio books on these lengthy trips. I thought it would be fun to create an audiobook version for my book and have it available as an MP3 vs. CD’s so listeners can easily download it to their portable players. When I held auditions for a narrator, I was in awe when listening to these various people reading my novel…it sounded like a brand new story and much more intense than reading the book. So began my quest to create an audiobook version.

How did you choose the reader for the book and the production company?
I signed up with a company called ACX, which is owned by Amazon and sells audiobooks on Amazon, Audible and I-Tunes. Their step-by-step process is easy to follow and allows an author to put our samples for narrators to audition for. We listened to at least a dozen different narrators and had a couple that we were interested in following up with, but then when we listened to Michael Sutherland, we instantly knew that he was the one. We signed an individual contract between the two of us and proceeded with recording, editing, etc. I was amazed how Michael was able to have distinct voices for 23 different characters throughout the recording process. We worked closely for the next three months along with my book editor and finally uploaded the completed product to ACX for sale and distribution.[/gravityforms]

What else would you like to share with readers about your audio book?
I have provided the first six chapters – both written and in MP3 format on my website.
When you wrote the book did you know you were going to offer it as an audio book?
No, but I could see it as a feature film.

Why did you decide to produce an audio book?
I learned about ACX and how easy it was to create audiobooks out of ebooks published on Amazon.

How did you choose the reader for the book and the production company?
Mike Paine, the narrator, auditioned for the book through ACX first. I did originally seek out a few narrators early on but Mike was the first to send me an audition and I really like what he did with my first audiobook, the short story “A Stormy Night”.[/gravityforms]

If someone is thinking about creating an audio book, what advice would you give them?
Check out ACX, they make it really easy to produce quality audiobooks.

In the struggle for survival…

Meghan’s graduation gift is one that any eighteen-year-old would dream of: traveling abroad to England. Her journey turns into more adventure than expected when Meghan meets the mysterious Kiernan and is introduced to a strange society hidden beneath the streets of London.

The fittest win out at the expense of their rivals…

When Meghan’s life is threatened, she flees the city and seeks sanctuary in a distant village–a place unseen by human eyes for over one hundred years. Not knowing if anyone can be trusted, Meghan tries to determine who is friend, who is foe… and who has captured her heart. Meanwhile, a battle for survival brews all around her.

Targeted Age Group: 13 to adult
Genre: YA urban fantasy

When you wrote the book did you know you were going to offer it as an audio book?
I had no idea it was even possible to create an audio book without the backing of a big publisher. I learned about Audible’s program for independent creation of audio books (www.acx.com) about six months after I published Wings of Shadow.

Why did you decide to produce an audio book?
I love the audio book format. When I am reading, I can imagine the characters’ voices in my head, but audio transforms novels to “in your mind” movies. I actually had tingles when I listened to some of the chapters that the narrator completed. She captured the romantic scenes perfectly, the humor and whimsy at other times, and brought the ceremonies and battles to life.

How did you choose the reader for the book and the production company?
Meghan Lewis narrated Wings of Shadow, and she was responsible for the many other pieces involved in its audio production. When I decided to create an audiobook, I went into it wanting to find the perfect voice talent, even if it meant a longer search process and production schedule. My biggest concern was finding a narrator who could handle my main character’s American accent, while developing accents for all of the British-sounding faeries. Meghan mastered this and intuitively knew when to add humor, an element of danger, and flirty romance. She is incredibly talented!

If someone is thinking about creating an audio book, what advice would you give them?
I think the most important element in creating an audiobook is to find a great narrator. A talented narrator can bring the audiobook to life and a poorly recorded audiobook can ruin the story.

What else would you like to share with readers about your audio book?
Wings of Shadow was made eligible for the Whispersync program. Whispersync allows readers to buy both the ebook version and the audio version for a reduced price. With Wings of Shadow, it would only cost $1.99 to add on the audiobook. Readers can then switch between the two versions without the hassle of searching for the right spot. I love this option! Whispersync allows readers to workout, do dishes or drive to work, without having to put their books down.

Feels Like the First Time is actually two stories, book-ended together.

In the first, two young people in the 1970′s meet, become friends and fall in love, in a story as old as time. Eventually, the two are separated by forces beyond their control and don’t see each other again for many years.

The book-end tale shows what happens when those two young lovers meet again, completely by chance, or fate, thirty years later.

Does the enduring power of first love last forever, and can it overcome anything? The answer, along with a nostalgic walk through the ’70s, is in Feels Like the First Time.

Targeted Age Group: 40+
Genre: Memoir/Romance/Coming of Age

What was your inspiration for this book?
I met the love of my life when I was just a boy. We became best friends, and over time I realized that I trusted and cared about her more than anyone else in my life. After several years of being together, we were separated against our will. I didn’t see her for almost 27 years, but I never forgot her.

In 2009, fate conspired to give us a most unlikely opportunity – to find out if what we had felt all those years ago had endured.

Before that chance to be reunited had arisen, I had already written many thousands of words about the girl I still loved, so when we finally got to resolve our long-held feelings for each other, I knew I had to write the story. Initially, I did it just for my own private remembrance, but my oldest sister Terri convinced me to release the story to the public. That’s why the book is dedicated to her.

Once I decided to publish our story, I knew I wanted it to be out there in as many formats as I could – ebook, paperback, and of course audio. As soon as the book was published, I began looking for a narrator that could bring the book to life.” condition=”isnot” value=”"]When you wrote the book did you know you were going to offer it as an audio book?
Once I decided to publish our story, I knew I wanted it to be out there in as many formats as I could – ebook, paperback, and of course audio. As soon as the book was published, I began looking for a narrator that could bring the book to life.

Why did you decide to produce an audio book?
I am a huge fan of audiobooks. I have done many cross-country road trips, and they were all made more memorable by listening to books. A reader just emailed me a few weeks ago and said that he and his wife had driven from Canada to Florida and listened to my book on the trip. He said they often had to stop the story so they could talk about something I had written about – a situation, a song, a memory. That made my whole week.

How did you choose the reader for the book and the production company?
I actually attended a vocational school for radio broadcasting and worked in radio as a deejay for ten years. At the school I attended, I met lots of friends who also went on to long careers in radio, and one of them was Jeff Conwell. I had always admired his talent and professionalism, so when I was looking for a narrator of my story, he was my first and only choice. The fun thing about the process of creating the book is that Jeff and I are about the same age and grew up in the same area. Time and again as he was producing the audio book, he would send me an email and say “I was there, too!” Even though we didn’t know each other at the time, our paths had crossed many times before. It was serendipity![/gravityforms]

If someone is thinking about creating an audio book, what advice would you give them?
To me, there is no downside to producing an audio version of your book. It is one more way to reach readers, and one more way to bring your story to life.

What else would you like to share with readers about your audio book?
In a short essay intended to provoke rational discussion, Richard Porter & Spot The Dog set down their thoughts about Electing a Pope. The Catholic World must read this urgent piece of writing. There are a few subjects in the Catholic World today that lend itself to raw emotion. This is where Richard and Spot shine the most.

This short book deals with our culture now, and the changes that are soon to be upon us.

You will be thrilled, shocked and thoroughly entertained. There are some points within this guide that will have you thinking for days. You will contemplate whether or not you should join sides with the writers or stick with the traditional Catholic beliefs. We leave it up to each individual Catholic to find it in their heart to decide on what is best for the Catholic world.

Targeted Age Group: 16 and over
Genre: Catholic World Humor

What was your inspiration for this book?
I watch the news trends, and they are loaded with topics for me to write about. When the new Pope was elected. I started writing one night in the morning the story was done. Oh a lot of people in high places do not like this story. But behind closed doors they love it too. My job is to write what ever I want, so if groups like or dislike my work it does not matter to me.

When you wrote the book did you know you were going to offer it as an audio book?
No I was trying to get into the Amazon Kindle Single system. They were not too pleased with the subject matter. I ” We have reviewed your story and we have turned it down for the Singles System.”I wonder how many Catholic reviewers were on the panel? So I moved on to the Audio books. Hey at lease they love it. An now It has started to sell even their.

Why did you decide to produce an audio book?
Their are thousands of people who have trouble read. Why should they be left out of the enjoyment of good stories? I say all book should be spread across the market place for everyone even the blind.

How did you choose the reader for the book and the production company?
I am not sure I understand this question. But if you in high school and up you will enjoy this book.

If someone is thinking about creating an audio book, what advice would you give them?
Don’t think about it. Do It you will be giving someone a chance to escape the troubles of the day for a few minutes. We don’t know how our book impact peoples lives.

What else would you like to share with readers about your audio book?

I’ve written two anthologies of flash fiction, an anthology of science fiction stories and an anthology blending mystery and horror. I seem to be in an anthology kind of groove. My flash fiction, collected in “30 Stories” and “30 More Stories”, covers many genres, from fantasy to comedy. Thanks to my wife, we split them into 99-cent “6-Packs” so people can sample my fiction writing. The science fiction anthology is set in Victorian Age London, following three explorers of the unknown. The men, Murchison and Leeds, call themselves “The Phenomenologists” and Abilene Leeds appears to have a background in adventure herself. And the mystery/horror anthology, “Tales from the Hotel Central,” explores the deadly secret of a small, nondescript inn.

Future projects are a book about using flash fiction to improve your writing, the second volume of “The Phenomenologists,” a horror/thriller series of a family’s centuries-long struggle against dark forces, a fantasy novel and a thriller set in modern times.
