Building links for a blog is different than building links for an e-commerce site or a business site, in this book I will present the ways that a blogger can use to promote his blog and build links to new articles and to the blog.
Link building is essential for SEO, most of the traffic that I have on my blogs comes from search engines. Search engines traffic is free and if the On Page SEO and Off Page SEO (link building) is done properly it can help you receive a lot of visitors.
The resources and sites that you can use to build links to your blog are also presented in the book.
In “Essential Link Building Strategies for Bloggers” you will not only find the link building strategies that you need to follow but also the resources and sites that can help you.

SEO Basics for Bloggers Kindle Book Review

This is the fourth in a series of reviews I am doing of products from Blogging ABCs. I was impressed with their 5 Affiliate Marketing Benefits for Bloggers Webinar, Best Practices for Coupon Sites, Facebook + Email = Success, and Choosing the Scope and Structure of Your Blog. Today I am reviewing “SEO Basics for Bloggers.”

Product Description

Blogging ABCs hosts Deborah Carney, Tricia Meyer, Vinny O’Hare, are joined by guest Eric Nagel to discuss the basics of SEO tactics for bloggers. Eric is an SEO specialist that shared his information with us, and included in this transcript is an actionable outline of tips that every blogger can implement.

Published by Nightfire Publications. Can be purchased on Amazon for $2.99 or FREE if you’re an Amazon Prime member!

Review

This is an easy to read, 16-page guide to SEO. Keep in mind that this is a transcript of a discussion and so it is not as fluid as a written book, however it is very easy to follow. This ebook is intended for people who have started a blog or are thinking about starting a site, but who have already participated in some of the Blogging ABCs lessons, primarily because there are some terms and lingo that you might not be familar with. I have to admit, I had heard of SEO but had no idea what it was or why it was important. SEO stands for “Search Engine Optimization.” So as you can imagine, this guide talks about how you rank on search engines like Google and how you can improve. One tip I found very helpful (and interesting) is that you should actually INCLUDE misspelled keywords in your blog posts. This guide is another great tool from Blogging ABC’s.

Flowers With Wings Review by Erin

Most people who read this blog, don’t know the significance of the butterfly to me personally. I always have loved butterflies, they are free, they fly, and they change. They are truly to me what represent the cycle of life. I had a best friend once, who loved butterflies, and now when I think of her I see yellow butterflies. I know my favorite color is yellow, and before her passing her favorite thing was butterflies … I know when I see a yellow butterfly, it’s her letting me know she’s still with me.

When I was asked to review Flowers with Wings, I got excited. Not only do I love photography, but I love and adore butterflies. I started out by uploading it to my computer and you can purchase it too and upload it to yours! I then sat back and started looking at the photos. I truly enjoyed that the book had quotes along with the photos.

Inspires an Addition to my Photography Bucket List

I love photography books, because the images inspire my photography, I love the photography tips, and some of the best books (in my opinion) have a story behind the images.

The Flowers With Wings digital photography ebook by Deborah Carney and Vinny O’Hare is a peaceful book that I found myself flipping through slowly. It’s perfect for someone who loves butterflies and at $4.99, it’s an affordable gift and stocking stuffer. What I love about the book is that it inspired an addition to my Photography Bucket List. I caught a portion of a documentary about the Monarch Butterflies and thought it would be amazing to capture a portion of their migration in South America. Until I get my act together and get my passport, I think I’ll visit a local butterfly exhibit and see what I can capture.

Choosing the Scope and Structure of Your Blog (ebook) – Review by Tania

I was fortunate enough to be able to review the Choosing the Scope and Structure of Your Blog ebook from Nightfire Publications. This is a transcript of a roundtable discussion between Tricia Meyer, Deborah Carney, and Liz Fogg – all very well established bloggers in their own right.

This ebook offers newbies and experienced bloggers alike great pointers and tips for deciding between a niche blog or a general blog. I know I hadn’t thought about this prior to reading this ebook and I’m sure many other bloggers out there haven’t either. Choosing the Scope and Structure of Your Blog discusses monetization and affiliate marketing on blogs and how important it is to decide on niche vs. general when considering monetization and affiliate marketing.

Choosing the Scope and Structure of Your Blog is highly beneficial for those bloggers still uncertain as to which blogging software or platform to choose. Again, the roundtable discusses how the choice of your platform or software can have huge impact on your ability to successfully monetize your blog or have profitable affiliate marketing.

I know I took many great tips and ideas for my blog from this ebook. One of my concerns with this ebook was how anti-Blogger/blogspot this group of ladies was. Unfortunately, I use Blogger as my blogging platform simply because of how user friendly it is in general. The ladies behind Choosing Your Scope and Structure of Your Blog do NOT like Blogger/blogspot at all. Which is fine for those of you who are savvy enough about web design and structure to be able to use a different blogging platform – I am not there yet though. These ladies do have many valid points concerning blog scope (niche vs. general) and blog structure (platform and software).

My other concern with Choosing the Scope and Structure of Your Blog is that it is not the easiest to read in the roundtable discussion format. Reading a discussion between three different people makes it a little challenging for smooth reading. Aside from those two points though I was happy to learn some valuable blogging information and tips from three very successful bloggers.

At the end of Choosing the Scope and Structure of Your Blog there is a page of resources that are mentioned by the ladies in their discussion. This is a nice bonus to help bloggers with a summarization of the ladies’ points from this ebook.

SEO Basics for Bloggers

I am relatively new to blogging, and am still have so much to learn. One of the most important things (and to me the most confusing) is SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

About the Product:

Blogging ABCs hosts Deborah Carney, Tricia Meyer, Vinny O’Hare, are joined by guest Eric Nagel to discuss the basics of SEO tactics for bloggers. Eric is an SEO specialist that shared his information with us, and included in this transcript is an actionable outline of tips that every blogger can implement. SEO Basics for Bloggers, published by NightFire Publications, is the transcript of this discussion in ebook format.

What I Thought:
I was really happy to get the chance to review this ebook, because every blogger knows that search engine optimization (SEO) is super important. It is the key to making sure readers are able to find what you are writing. This has been on my blogging to-do list, but it is so intimidating that I have been procrastinating. After reading SEO Basic for Bloggers, I feel less intimidated (enough that I might actually start the optimizing process).

I felt that this ebook was more for the advanced beginner (as compared to a real novice like me). They assumed that you would know some of the what & how of basic SEO (such as permalinks, meta tags, etc). However, I did like the format and all the extras included in the end. Overall, this is a really great little ebook that is packed full of tips & helpful information.

Choosing the Scope and Structure of Your Blog – Review by UncreativeMommy

This ebook is perfect for those who are new to blogging and who need help trying to figure out whether their blog will be specialized or more generalized. It also talks about how choosing can impact monetization of our blogs.

The issue I had with this ebook is how it is written, as a discussion between several bloggers. It really makes following the discussion difficult.

Choosing the Scope and Structure of your Blog Ebook can be found at Amazon and it is a NightFire Publications Ebook

Review of Weirder Than Marshmallows – Allison

I have been reading a lot lately & it has been absolutely wonderful. Reading Weirder Than Marshmallows by Dan Fogg was a breath of fresh air. It was refreshing to read something so honest and insightful. This was an easy read and quite entertaining. There were several times that I laughed out loud at topics that Dan discussed, since he tended to put opinions that I had in my head into actual words.

Weirder Than Marshmallows is divided into five categories. While reading the first three categories, I found myself making mental notes of talking topics that I would like to discuss with my friends and family. For example, well…I guess here is the thing; I don’t want to give you examples because I want you to read this. Dan has some great thoughts, observations, and discussions that you should read. I guarantee you that you will have conversation points as well from this book.
I decided to read and write my review before checking out what other people had to say about the book. Turns out we are almost always in a clear consensus: This book has great stories & has good flow, excellent writing. I recommend it.

I am honestly heartbroken to become a fan of Dan Fogg’s work knowing that he has passed. I look forward to other publications of his work, but based on his style of writing and frank honesty, I would have easily been a lifelong fan, anticipating his continuous work.

I had the opportunity to review Flowers with Wings from Nightfire Publications which is a really neat compilation of butterfly pictures with Psalms, poems and quotes. These photos are absolutely breathtaking! And the verbiage underneath is inspiring. I really enjoyed this ebook!
