Beatrice Brusic was born in Bolivia, South America. Her first memoir “Beyond the Snows of the Andes” explores that aspect of her life in detail from the time she was ten years old to seventeen when she emigrated to America. Her second memoir “A Different Journey” explores the second part of her life residing in America, a life that includes marriage, giving birth to a special daughter, and divorce. Ms. Brusic made her living as a legal assistant, working for top law firms in New York City, another aspect that’s fully explored in “A Different Journey.”

The majority of my books are cookbooks, as I love to cook for my husband and my two children, and I wanted to share the recipes with other busy people out there. I also publish other non fiction books about topics that interest me as well.

Janey Watson was born in the heart of the Cotswolds but then spent the first year of her life in Malaysia before returning to Gloucestershire permanently.

A great admirer of Georgette Heyer’s books, when these ran out, she decided to write her own historical romances. Janey also writes contemporary romantic fiction always ensuring there is a happy ending.

She now divides her time between her family, writing, running a business park and a small farm. Janey loves travelling around Europe and learning languages. She enjoys creativity of all kinds and is currently making a name for herself knitting Christmas jumpers.

Alan has practiced as a surgical Pathologist for many years, starting in Philadelphia and ending up in California. He began to write fiction a number of years ago, possibly challenged to do so by competition from his brothers, both of whom have written numerous books and articles in the fields of Psychology, Health, Humor and Fitness. Alan has written two screenplays, several short stories and is working on a second novel. Jams N. Roses is a father of one and grew up in Hertfordshire, England. He has spent a few years living on the Costa del Sol, Spain, and currently resides in Nice, France.

He primarily writes crime novels, but has a naughty sense of humor that can sneak its way into his work, so much so that his third scheduled novel release, Extremely England (working title) will be an hilarious, satirical comedy.

“I love the creation of stories, and although I spend days and weeks and months working on a plot, it’s the emotions of my characters that I enjoy delving into.

My first published novel, ‘Get Clean’, really has my heart and soul poured into it. Although I feel a bit naked by putting a story out there that contains so much of my life, I’m happy with the book, and a little proud of my first writing achievement.

Also available is ‘Son of a Serial Killer’. This story was born in my mind when I was going through a difficult phase in my life. I felt let down by the person closest to me, and I was angry and upset. What better way to expel those emotions than to throw them into a book? The story itself isn’t based on my life like my previous novel, but the emotions captured within the pages are feelings I had to battle with for far too long.

My third release, ‘Extremely England’, is something completely different. It’s a satirical comedy poking fun at society and the way it is portrayed by the media – I enjoyed writing something that wasn’t so dark for a change if I’m honest!

I am a big film fan, and would have to admit that I have an eye on the ‘filmability’ of my stories when writing them. One day…”

Tim Stevens was born in England and grew up in Johannesburg. He lives near London with his wife and daughters, and works as a doctor in the National Health Service.

I knew I wanted to write from the time I was a little girl. I was writing in journals long before John-boy Walton ever picked up a pencil…but, in full disclosure, I did switch over to tablets after watching him on the show. (Just writing that sentence made me nostalgic enough to go online and purchase one again.) As so often is the case, reading and writing go hand-in-hand. When I was young, my mother took the kids (there were three of us at the time) to the library every week. Years later, she told me that I was always much more enthusiastic about the trips than my older brothers, who would rather spend time beating each other up–but I loved to read. A true geeky bookworm. If I could have built a home at that age, it would have looked exactly like a library…minus the brothers.

Writing was a natural path for me. What could be more exciting than creating a story of my own, getting it published and seeing it on a bookshelf? Life just couldn’t get any better than that.

Fast forward many years…to college. You would have thought that, given my history, I would have majored in English literature. Or creative writing. Or poetry. Or, at least, something in the arts. But unfortunately, I was very shy and the idea of reading my work aloud in front of living, breathing classmates, scared me to death. Even to this day, talking in front of groups still frightens me. So there I was, a young sophomore, needing to declare a major by the end of the year. After deep reflection (20 minutes?), I decided on education. I earned a masters degree in Special Education and became a teacher.

Fast forward many years, again, because otherwise it’s going to take a long time to get to nowadays. I was in my mid-thirties when the desire to write hit me really hard. After talking to my husband, I decided to take the leap. I started teaching part-time and writing part-time. I wrote several children’s books and a young adult novel. And I racked up a boatload of rejections for my efforts. After five years, I returned to teaching full-time. During the first month back, I finished an adult, romantic suspense, took a deep breath and sent my completed manuscript to a few agents. Several days later, success! Elaine Koster, from the Elaine Koster Literary Agency, called my house and offered to represent me.

(Actually, she called during the week while I was at work and introduced herself to my husband as an agent in New York…nearly causing him a heart attack. She asked him if I had signed on with anybody–to which he replied, “No. Not yet.” Elaine asked that I please not do anything until she had finished reading the book, which she would complete over the weekend. My husband and I could barely breathe over the next few days. Finally, on Sunday, I decided to take a nap. Guess who called right in the middle of it? And guess who’s teenage son didn’t wake up his mom for the most important phone call in her life?! In his defense, though, he was at that tender age where his greatest skill set was grunting one word answers and using his two thumbs to play video games.)

Fortunately, especially for my son, Elaine called again and I was offered a two book contract with Putnam Penguin. A Dying Art and An Opening for Murder were published in 2001 and 2002, respectively. They have since being updated, revised and reissued on Kindle as Artful Dodger and Artistic License. It is a humorous, romantic suspense series set in Colorado about an artist who has a knack for finding dead bodies and bumping into trouble.

And the really good news: A brand new, never been published before, third book in the series is now available on Kindle. It is called Artfully Yours (I’ve got an “Art–” thing going).

In the meantime, I’ve retired from teaching and am writing again (see the new book that’s out). I’ve started gardening a bit (my husband and I even built our very own hoop house/greenhouse last year which actually managed to stay standing through the winter months). I love to read recipes–cooking is a real passion. My goal is to wean myself off of the recipes, add some basic sauces to my repertoire and start fooling around in the kitchen. Should be fun. Oh, and yeah. I have a great son (except for his phone skills at fifteen) and a wonderful daughter-in-law. They’d be upset if I forgot to mention that.
