Ashlee Shades is a new author to me. I came upon Cassie, and Ashlee, via another author I follow who was talking about the release party the author was having. After looking at the blurb, I decided I wanted to read the book. To that end, I purchased it. Man, am I glad I did!

This is the third book in the Blood Ties series but, despite the fact there are references to the first two books, you do not need to read Books One and Two to enjoy Cassie's story. That would just be a little bonus.

This book, it is not an easy read, emotionally speaking. What Cassie goes through at the hands of her ex, and the struggle she has to overcome it, will hit you hard and make your heart ache for her. Knowing that the author used this as a means to heal her own troubled past just made it that much more real. There is deep emotion within the pages of this book, emotion that will make you weep, emotion that will make you want to wrap Cassie up and keep her safe, and emotion that will make your heart soar, at the end.

The one sex scene in the book is JUST steamy enough to make you squirm a little and bring a smile to your face. By the time the book ends, Cassie, Luc, and Wes will have endeared themselves to you! The ending of the book will leave you smiling and wondering, is the tale of Cassie, Wes, Luc, and their friends, Brielle, Cole, Max, Dani, Ryan, and Adrian done or will there be more in the future for this ragtag family?

"Cassie" is the third book in the Blood Ties Series. Cassie's story begins with the abuse that she receives at the hand of her boyfriend Jake. She is rescued by Wes and Luc and brought to their place to heal from her injuries after her hospital stay. Wes and Luc soon realize that with Cassie they are Celestial Mates. Cassie needs to go through the healing process before she can trust again. Loved how Ashlee Shades writes this story of heartache, love, and renewal of mind and body.

Cassie was the third book in the Celestial Mates/Blood Ties trilogy.

No werewolf shifting in this one either. Why? Why? Why would you do that? A werewolf novel deserves to have atleast one incident of werewolf shifting, right?

Though I'm glad that the storyline was a bit different this time. No kidnapping at the least.

Another thing that struck me as really odd, that I think was an oversight on part of the author, is that the second book Dani, ended with Dani being pregnant with twins. But in Cassie, it's played like she isn't and was never pregnant. What the hell happened??

Other than those few points, Cassie was as enjoyable as the previous books and a fun read.

When you have your family all finding their mates and then you are left with you abusive boyfriend that you just want to love you... Then, on the other hand, you have two sexy AF men wanting and pining for you. Waiting for you... Then something drastic happens and you then have the choice made for you. This is a story of love and strength. This was a deeper story than the other two but still will have you glued to the book. Awesome ending to the trilogy!

Last instalment in the Blood Ties series, again another compelling read with twist and turns in the plot. The dynamics of the celestial mates was palpable, emotions running high which again, made the book hard to put down! It all worked out in the end, and I was sad that this was the last book in the series!! Thank you Ashlee for a brilliant read!!

This book is about finding true love after being in an abusive relationship. Cassie must learn to trust her two soulmates, Luc and Wes. Their story is about patience, love, and the building of their mate back up!! Awesome story!!

This next instalment in the Blood Ties Series centres on Cassie. After suffering abuse off her boyfriend Cassie finally gets away from him via help off Wes, Luc and the gang. This story interconnects with the previous books and with the help of Briellle and Dani , Cassie soon realised that the inevitable is gonna happen as Wes and Luc are her celestial mates and it's no good fighting it.
This is a quick read and it's focus is on Cassie healing , learning to trust again and also learning to love. I loved the characters, this book and the others in this series. I can't wait to read more from this author.
I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book.
