What happens when a sexy former agent of the CIA, Frank Ireland, discovers that Stephanie, one of his best friends he’s known since their childhood, isn’t the innocent, sweet, amiable librarian everyone believes her to be? Instead her mundane occupation is merely a cover for her being a secretive hard-nosed bodyguard.
It’s kismet when he accepts a job working for a stealthy protection company known for its high-class customer base, and winds up working alongside Stephanie to track down the murderer of a former CIA partner when he discovers this secret she’s kept under wraps. Naturally this brings out the proverbial curiosity killed the cat scenario making him determined to undercover any other secrets hiding beneath the facade she so skillfully exhibits.
Frank knows the personal vengeance he’s decided to undertake is fraught with danger and has to wonder whether he’s able to safeguard her at the same time.
Given their on-going, growing relationship since childhood, it’s easy to imagine how she desires to have him as a lover not merely a friend. However, the dangers of his mission begins to not only interfere with their now blossoming relationship of romance, it’s also a danger to their very existence as well.
Things be told, Frank has also kept secrets from Stephanie, secrets which make him wonder if he can ever allow his heart to accept her as an importance part of his life?
As we know from our own experiences, secrets can become very destructive, and as one reads this story, one has to wonder whether this will be the case here?
