World famous rock band Atonement visits Allt-yr-Coch to perform in the home town of their singer, Darren Jones. Unfortunately the criminal underworld hasn’t forgotten Darren’s part in the downfall of a terrorist. Deborah has a desperate urge to scream at some mountains. There seems no better place to do this than Allt-yr-Coch so she decides to stay awhile. Other than this, life goes on as usual in the sleepy Welsh village. Or does it?

I was born in Australia and upon reaching adulthood went on a working holiday from which I never returned. After seeing something of Europe and the Middle East I settled in London and started writing.

I now live an idyllic life in Wales.

The idea for Beyond the Island came to me in a dream. The story took several years to write and in 2012 became my first published novel.

In 2013 I published my second novel, New Voices in the Valley, which is set in Wales.

In May 2014 I travelled around Wales by bus and wrote Bus Pass Holiday: A Short Circuit.

In 2014 I also published Return to the Island, the sequel to Beyond the Island.

The sequel to New Voices in the Valley, entitled Scream at the Mountains, was published in November 2015.

Through 2015 and 2016 I resumed my travels, and Bus Pass Holiday #2: The Long and Short of It was published late in 2016.

Having attended a school reunion I put fingers to keyboard once again, and published Twenty Years On in November 2018. My schoolmates have nothing to fear - the characters are totally fictitious. Honest.

More novels are at the planning stage - watch this space.

In the Welsh valleys again I took up the stories of the characters I'd first met in ‘New Voices in the Valley’. The continuing soap opera of the various and sometimes surprising residents of Allt-yr-Coch (pun intended, I believe) soon became essential bedtime reading. The author’s style is fluid and the Welsh flavour always evident – Griffin makes full use of the local vernacular! There is action in the form of a serious terrorist threat, but there is also more down to earth drama with ample scope for the reader to become involved in the lives of the characters. Wholesome and entertaining, this is definitely one to try.
