The Forgotten Coast of Florida contains the most beautiful beaches in the world. It also hides a secret. A vicious murder causes the area to lock doors, staying inside away from the glory of nature. Delicious Tupelo honey, the most desirable of the golden nectars, silently gathers in hives. Locals collect it lovingly, as did ancestors before.

Gulf County Detective, Sue Gibbs, also gathers something of worth. Slowly, she chips at family and friends as she gathers information leading to the perpetrator's arrest. Even the revered ladies of the Panhandle Patriots, who know well secrets of the area, are not beyond scrutiny. These special ladies silently discover mysteries on yellowing sheets of crumpled paper from earlier generations. Detective Gibbs will find the killer regardless of the consequences. This case will cause discussion for future residents. All of this waits for discovery on the Forgotten Coast.

The people of the small town of Honeyville, Florida get the shock of their lives when a beloved community member and founder of the local chapter of Panhandle Patriots, Rachel Thomson Baxter, is found stabbed to death. As Detective Sue Gibbs is assigned to the case, Rachel's high school friend Beverly Brown Roberts and her husband Daniel become the prime suspects, for they were the ones to discover Rachel's body. As Sue dives headfirst into the investigation, newfound facts emerge that force her to look into Rachel's past. Compounding matters is an unnamed witness who was present during the crime and may have the key to unlocking this complicated puzzle. Filled with suspense and intrigue, Murdered Twice is a murder mystery thriller written by Linda Heavner Gerald.

Murdered Twice is one of those modern whodunnits that hook you in from the first page and keep you guessing as to the killer until the end. Author Linda Heavner Gerald weaves a moving tale of forbidden love, betrayal, envy, and murder that's bound to thrill and entice readers of murder mystery novels. I found the characters to be colorful and compelling, with Detective Sue Gibbs being my favorite. The plot moves at a decent pace with multiple POVs to make for an engaging reading experience. At first, it felt a bit jarring with the number of names thrown into the plot, but as the story progressed further, the narrative flowed more smoothly. I had a wonderful time reading Murdered Twice, and I would definitely recommend it.

I have only just downloaded this book, and so haven't read it yet; all I can comment on is the description on Amazon's website. I assume the person writing this description didn't intend the typo - but because of it, this may qualify as one of the funniest things I've read in a long time. To quote: "The Forgotten Coast of Florida contains the most beautiful beaches in the world. It also hides a secret. A viscous murder causes the area to lock doors..."

A "viscous" murder? Really? I can only imagine... Thank you for the hilarious mental images!

The detective faced many twists & turns before finally solving the murder case in the small Florida town. I will recommend this book to my granddaughter, who enjoys mysteries as much as I do.

Beautiful beaches and delicious Tupelo honey describe this part of the Florida coast. But not all is tranquil nor idyllic. In fact, there is fear because the town is suddenly infused with murder.

Sue Gibbs is a seasoned investigator. Although a native resident of the town, she rules out no one in her quest to find the murderer; friends are not exempt from her scrutiny. She is characterized by her determination learned from a serious mistake that has left her with scars, but she is strong and decent and not deterred from her duty.

Although the murder investigation is the raison d'etre for the story, this novel is (to me) equally or mostly about small town life. It has a full cast of believable characters ranging from the conventional to the sometimes nasty and occasionally strange. Typically, this small town is riddled with secrets, peccadilloes, transgressions, and lies. With clear, crisp writing, the author brings this interesting, enjoyable murder mystery to life. While the plot was interesting, it was difficult to read. The syntax and grammar were so incorrect it was difficult to decipher the meaning. I would classify the books as a Tea Cosy much like Agatha Christie. The author has a grasp of plot. She needs an editor and less tone of preaching and judgment.

This mystery held my interest, The varying points of view give it a nice touch. It gives a good overview of life in a small southern town.
I received a free copy for an honest review.

Murdered twice is the story of an investigation into the murder of Rachel Baxter. A number of interesting characters people the suspect list, some I loved, others I detested.

I liked the way the author handled her characters by introducing each in a chapter. I read a lot and sometimes I become confused between people, trying to remember who did what,or who belonged where.

In "Murdered Twice," I did almost become confused when she made a startling transition for a character. But I don't want to give any of her plot away. The story kept me reading on to find out what was going to happen next.

My one criticism is her use of too many modifiers, sometimes more than one per sentence. I believe her story can be made stronger with the elimination of some. It can also make for smoother reading.

Thanks Linda for an interesting story that is not full of bad language, and just plain garbage. I received this book free from the author in return for an honest review.
