- Reviewed in the United States on July 18, 2016New England Nights is the third book in Linda Lee Williams' Blood and Company series, and my favorite of the series to date. It's a powerful, moving story about acceptance, past mistakes, and so much more.
Geoff is a vampire/human hybrid, and because of his mother's frustrations over her own situation, Geoff closes his heart to the possibility of loving someone. When he has a relationships, his heart is half in it, or he knows the woman isn't the perfect match for him. So what happens when he meets a woman who ever well may be the one?
The struggle between the main couple in this story is intense, and it kept me turning the pages to find out what would happen. The story is full of emotions, as I felt the struggles from both Geoff and Norah, especially as they learned to accept each other, themselves, and the life they made. Just when you think it's going to be okay, a new struggle is thrust upon the couple. The secondary characters are a delightful added edition. As usual, Linda's story kept me captivated and intrigued. I love her take on vampires- they're like ordinary people in this story, trying to blend into the society as normal people. This is perfect for fans of contemporary romance with a light paranormal twist. It's refreshing to read stories that are far from the norm of what's out there, so I know I can turn to Linda Lee Williams for an entertaining read. I will be diving into the last book of the series very soon!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 25, 2016This was a little different and possibly not as character grabbing as other vampire books but it was different.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2015Different take on the vampires and their mates which I really like.
They just want to have normal live with someone.
Plenty of drama, angst, romance and love.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 12, 2014This is a story of love. But first, if you haven't read the first two books, please do. This entire series so far has been about the difficulties faced by flawed people finding love. The fact that some of them are vampires adds spice, yet in a way is almost a metaphor for all the scars each of us carries into a relationship. In this beautiful told love story, one woman loves all that a very imperfect man is. How she goes after a love he is reluctant to give is amazing. I'm not going to spoil this for you. I only hope to engage you to read a lovely, artfully crafted tale that will keep you from sleep and haunt your dreams afterward. A truly luscious offering.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 31, 2015I didn't want the book to end! Like all of Ms. Williams' book, this story leaves you with a love of Vampires. These Vampires are the most loving, kind, and considerate Vampires that anyone could love. As with the other books, the story shows that being a Vampire has its drawbacks, but it also shows that they can be loving, sweet, and kind, as well as talented and smart. Geoff is an extremely talented artist. He meets the love of his life the night he meets Norah. It's such a warm and wonderful story. If you like love and Vampires, you will love this story of Vampires with hearts. I absolutely loved it.
Carole McKee, Author.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2015I can't tell you how much I love this series. Linda Lee Williams creates vampires who you can root for and who are as normal as us all. I fell in love with all of her characters and absolutely can not wait for the next book. I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves paranormal romance books!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 19, 2015This book had good characters but it was too detailed. The story was the COMPLETE story between the h and the H. It became tedious....
- Reviewed in the United States on May 17, 20154.5 stars. Very good paranormal (vampire hybrid) romance. What I think I enjoyed best about this book is that it has a very unique take on vampires and that made it more enjoyable. So many authors stick to pretty much the same 'beliefs' regarding everything vampire. Norah is a unique intelligent, independent young woman. Geoff has pretty much kept to himself as most artistic individuals seem to. Norah makes a mistake in her choice of boyfriends but with Geoff's assistance ride herself of him. Upon meeting Geoff Norah feels comfortable around him not realizing he's a vampire hybrid. Geoff's interest is immediate upon seeing her and hearing her voice. We learn Geoff comes from a human mother and vampire father. His father fell in love with his mom and didn't tell her about himself until it was to late. They loved one another but in Faith didn't let Geoff and his dad bond as they should have because she didn't want him Geoff to be a vampire. This caused disruptions throughout his childhood even though his parents loved one another. Norah plays the flute as well as teaches. In addition to his popular artworks he teaches college students. Unfortunately most of his life his mother told him to marry 'one of his own and not to reproduce'. Her prejudices kept him within a small circle of friends and lovers even though he is a distinguished artist. Norah' s love and support helped both Geoff and his parents especially his terminately ill mother. The author gave each character a depth of emotions and personality. In this the vampires and spouses aren't immortal. They still have some issues with the sun etc but nothing like the 'traditional' vampire books. I look forward to reading other books in this series and future books by Ms Williams. I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest, unbiased opinion.
