    Enjoyed it!

Two years ago Joss Adcock left his daughter Cait, to handle the family business and their home on San Fransisco's Nob Hill to explore gold and silver mines in the Comstock area. When she heard he was possibly killed in a mine cave-in she hired a agent to find him. After she received word he'd been seen at the Sharp Arrow Saloon in Virginia City, Nevada she rushed there to find him slumped over a table drunk, but alive. When his business associate turns up she finds herself drawn to the man despite being suspicious of his motives. Together they search for answers and a way to save the family fortune.

The author did her homework on this one and made me feel like I'd been transported back in time to 1895.

Jennifer Chambers treats the reader to a story about a businesswoman who finds her father, who was reportedly dead, at the same time she meets Thomas, a man she's not sure she can trust. Thomas is quite convincing in his pursuit of Cait and in helping her find the man who is swindling the family business. Historical facts from 1895 help to anchor the story in the Comstock mining area.

A quick story to read when you are short on time. A bit of mystery and a bit of romance, so what more can you ask for? I only wish there was just a bit more depth to the characters. Yet overall this was a good read.

Cait is a proper lady from San Francisco to the Wild West town of Virginia to find her father who she’s been told had died in a mining accident. She finds him drunk where she meets Thomas Duffy, her father’s business associate who she discovers she is attracted to.
The attention to historical detail is to be applauded but it didn't slow down the romantic tension between Cait and Thomas.
I loved the inclusion of the two kittens since I had read that Ms Chambers’ two black cats nearly always turn up in her stories

Good clean Christmas story. Just sorry it was so short.

Christmas in the Comstock is a western historical romance with Christmas as a backdrop. It's the coming of age story of Miss Cait Adcock, who shows up in a wild west Nevada mining town with a basketful of kittens. Looking for answers in her father's death and loss of the family fortune, she finds adventure, many surprises, and... love. This was a well-written, historically correct story of an exciting time in our nation's history when everything was changing.
