About the author
I was born in Hawaii, a place rich with culture and storytellers. As a little girl, scary tales about vampires, werewolves, angels, demons, and witches were my favorite kind — much to my mother's dismay.
The scarier, the better.
My love for the supernatural never went away, even after moving to Seattle, far from Hawaii's majestic beaches with unusual colors. Nothing compares to the landscapes of Maui, Lanai, or Oahu. But somehow, Seattle stole my heart anyway. It became the place where my love for stories took on a new form, in a book of my own: The Adventures of Little Arthur and Merlin the Magnificent. This book is for kids who love stories, just like I did.
Then I had an idea while sleeping.
One night, my mind began to work overtime. In a dream, I saw a unique storyline involving all the races and an epic battle of good versus evil. It was a modern day plot with a three thousand year old prophecy, The Blood Prophecy. I finished the first book in 2014, The Queen's Destiny. Two years later, I released The Queen's Enemy. The last book in the series, The Queen's Ascension, arrives this year, 2020.
Today, I live in Florida with its beaches and sunshine. But I'm still a Seattle girl at heart. And so all my stories take place in the Northwest.
I always keep to my roots when I write.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2014This book was gifted to me by the sweetest author Barb Jones who wrote this book. As soon as I received the book I read and devoured it in one setting. I really liked the story line after I read it I immediately went to see if there was another book that was available to continue the story.
This story takes you to a past life of a queen and king who have a troubled history. The queen is wanting to unite all species (witch, werewolves and vampires), but her husband the king did not want it so he tried to wipe out all of the werewolves almost eliminating the species, but there were few that were still alive and loyal to the queen, but he still found a way to stop it by killing her. Then there word spread of a prophecy where the queen would be re-born and there would be three that could fulfill the prophecy. Very few knew of this prophecy but the ones that did watched and waited, but none more than the vampire Michal and his sire who wanted to see the prophecy fulfilled which left them going against their leaders who wanted Michael to find the queen turn her into a vampire so they could kill her. This left Michael and his sire searching for the queen for centuries and along the way he came to claim a son who assisted in the search over the centuries and they would later find that he too was part of the prophecy to unite all species, but is it too late? Michael was willing to risk everything for the life of his queen even his own son to the leaders they were fighting against and sacrificed his own son in order save the queen and fulfill the prophecy.
All is revealed in the book I just don't want to spoil it. This is a great read and would highly recommend it.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2023The story line was very interesting and exciting. Jumping back and forth through the different life times and memories were sometimes choppy and hard to follow. Overall though I enjoyed the story.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 16, 2017This was my first book by this author and I realized that I really enjoyed it. Amber is a very very very smart person who was expected to excel at everything because of how smart she was as a child, she is functioning at a genius level basically.. She becomes friends with Chloe who is very important in her own way. Poor Amber is hounded by dreams that she cant stop and shares them with Chloe, the only one she trusts to help her. When stranger arrive and tell Amber that she is part of a 3000 year old prophecy things change drastically. And she is not just a footnote in this prophecy, she is a key player and this puts her in the middle of a millennia old battle. We find out about a old royal married couple who couldn't agree (common problem lol). The Queen was amazing and wanted to bring all the paranormal species together (vamps, weres, witch, etc) but the King hated the idea and decided to try to kill all the weres. He did not succeed and hated the fact that the weres remained loyal to his wife so he "cut off the head of the snake", his wife, basically to stop the weres. He did not know that this would start off the prophecy that said that the queen would be reborn with a loyal group of 3 to fulfill the prophecy. The prophecy was kept well hidden until Michael who was/is loyal to the cause and searched and searched for the Queen. They wanted to keep her safe and allow the prophecy to be fulfilled while others wanted her kill her and have Michael do it. The question is how far are they willing to go to protect her? Can a reborn Queen survive in a strange world or will the foes against her wipe her out before she has a chance to change the world? And what will happen when Amber realizes that some people in her life are not exactly who she knew they were? And how will she feel when she realizes she can only become the Queen again by being changed into a vampire?
For me the book started off a little slow but I kept at it and got dragged into the story line. I did like the care that was put into each of the characters and you would really imagine them in your mind. The jumping bac and forth between time lines is a bit off putting at first but you get used to it. I did enjoy the book very much.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2022This story takes many characters who will intertwine with each other. We have Amber, she was adopted at 4 years old into a beautiful family. We have Chloe who is a seer, this story kind of goes back and forth between their present life and their past lives. The two strangers will meet and dates will intertwine with each other. As a prophecy that spans a millennia, how will they work together to make things work for the present and possibly fix what has happened.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 9, 2015I really liked this book too. I can't wait for the second one to come out. The author is amazing and very descriptive in her words to picture the scenes. It's definitely not like Twilight or anything which is good too.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2018I struggled to stay focused while reading this it bounces around so much it’s hard to know what’s going on but by the end I realized I enjoyed it.
