- Reviewed in the United States on November 3, 2013What the author says in simple terms is that you are responsible for who you are and how you behave. If you want to change any of that you have to change your thinking. If you want to be happy and to acquire those qualities contained in the title, you have to begin to think differently about yourself.
Start thinking in positive terms and practicing the techniques outlined in the book and you are likely to become more confident and feel better about yourself. You will lift your self-esteem.
This is not the first book on the subject. However the author handles it in a manner that is easy to follow, and, because it is not a long read, it does not take too much time. Nevertheless, it is an important book on a very relevant subject
- Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2013I have read literally hundreds of books about self improvement. Most books focus on one main aspect of one's life that they may be trying to improve and then drill down deep into details associated with that aspect or area. This book is the perfect introduction or overview. If you have never really taken a hard look at yourself, and are just sitting down for the first time trying to put your life together, or to, as the book says 'feel better about yourself', then this is definitely the book for you. It addresses some of the key methods you can take to boost your self confidence and feel better about yourself. This may be your first read about self improvement, but if you take the concepts written within personally and seriously, it won't, nor should it be your last.
One note to the men. This book was clearly written for a female audience based on its writing style and recommendations. This is not to say a man would not benefit from the information contained within. The most valuable take away I got from the book was how I can better understand the women in my life (yes, I believe that is possible) and it helped me to make more effective suggestions to help them feel better about themselves.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 11, 2013In a world where everyone seems to have more of everything they desire but are missing the important things they really need, books like How To Feel Good About Yourself remind us of what really matters... and how to get there.
This book is a great introduction to:
* What you really need to do to feel good (and its not buy more things).
* Why these methods are powerful and work so well (and its easier than you think).
* How to get started and take steps that make a difference (beginning today), and
* Provide empowering new habits to start building self-esteem and confidence.
What I like most is its short (you can read it in about an hour) and it is filled with actionable, real-word ideas. Highly recommended!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2013This book is chock full of wisdom, practical exercises, as well as inspiration. There are many things that affect self-esteem, and the author does a great job of covering all of the areas. The author teaches valuable techniques to improving self-esteem such as changing your outlook and reducing negativity to focusing on what we like about ourselves and are grateful for. I like the fact that the author doesn’t tell us to just “snap out of it” but rather focuses on assessing why our self-esteem may be lacking. The establishing priorities section was helpful as well as Four A’s in dealing with stress. The book was loaded with helpful techniques that I will go back and re-read for practical support and motivation. I highly recommend this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 3, 2014It did give some great tips, but a lot of common sense too.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 7, 2013“How to Feel Good About Yourself” is a book that teaches you all about how to do this. While many books tell you about things that can cause you to feel badly about yourself, this one gives you help in turning negativity around to positive action steps.
There are things we each would like to “fix” in ourselves and this resource will help you define what that is for you and offer your solutions for change.
And ladies, here is one that you may find to be a favorite like I did. The author stated that “small portions of dark chocolate can be a healthy good mood booster.” Who knew? I’ll be working on setting up a daily quota for this action step!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2013As the author suggested, I have explored some of the subjects covered in this book before. However, I did find many helpful reminders of the importance of applying `actionable' ideas. One of the many practical tips which resonated with me was the `fine & reward' yourself technique - an easy to adopt and maintain method to avoid letting negativity into your life. I also enjoyed the inspiring Quotes used throughout the book to emphasize a point. This is a book you can easily keep coming back to and continue your journey of self-development.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2013If you ever thought that you can't control your thoughts and become a better person then you need to read this book and find out just how wrong you were.
It is very easy to think that negative self talk can't be curtailed. After all, there are triggering events, then the negative self talk begins. What I discovered in this book though was quite astounding.
You can overcome doubt and you can feel good about yourself and it really isn't that hard if you've got the tools.
The tools are in this book. Feeling good is about your habits and behaviour. You can control this. Make success your habit too and buy this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars How to Feel Good - an Awesome Book
This book is so much more than just how to feel good about yourself. It is really a life manual offering tips and strategies for dealing with difficult people, goal setting building self esteem and generally making the most of your life. The book is full of practical advice, and written in a easy style that makes it accessible for everyone.
I loved the analogy with garbage about getting rid of bad thoughts. Something else about this book was that it was different from a lot of self help books. Many books tell you how to say no but this one also told you how to say yes, and therefore to enrich your life - magic.

5.0 out of 5 stars great
This book was a great read. Having no confidence myself I thought I'd give it a go. Really pleased i did as it's giving me loads of tips that I have used already and will use in good time. It's hard when you feel your worthless and compare yourself. Some may say get on with it. But they can't say that until they have been in the position of not liking who you are. This book as helped me realise that my confidence can flourish I just need to start believing and think more positively!
Thank you I'm really glad I bought this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth buying - down-to-earth & practical!
This is not one of those fluffy, "everything will be well if only you were positive" books. Instead we have a book with very practical, down-to-earth book that it will be very difficult for anyone to read and not get something positive and, possibly, life-changing out of.
Despite its title, it is not merely a book full of positive quotes - it contains excellent advice for many areas of life.
Well done & thank you, Rachel!
