The Blackstone Vampires Omnibus Kindle Edition
THE HOUSE ON BLACKSTONE MOOR
After discovering her savagely murdered family, Rose Baines is plunged into a nightmare of hell. She is incarcerated in two madhouses, after which she is helped to obtain a position as governess at Blackstone House. Located on haunted moorland, nothing is as it seems for the House and its inhabitants have hideous secrets. There is unimaginable horror there, and love too--love that comes at a terrible price.
UNHOLY TESTAMENT – THE BEGINNINGS
Eco, first seen in the previous book, has documented all of the sins he has committed during the course of his immortal life. Trying to get Rose to forgive him, he forces Rose to read his journal by holding her children hostage.
UNHOLY TESTAMENT – FULL CIRCLE
Vampiric orgies and satanic rituals fill the pages of this book. All of the hideous secrets of Blackstone House are revealed. Every evil that Rose Baines was subjected to is closely examined, as are those who committed the worst sins against her.
THE FOURTH BRIDE
After the tragic and sudden death of her groom, Dia, cursed by Dracula as a babe, is taken to his castle. Once there, she is seduced and turned by the count and becomes his fourth bride. The other brides are to be her sisters. All are to love and feed upon one another. Dia’s tale is full of erotic sex and graphic violence. It is a tale of love and lust but mostly of blood, for the blood is everything.

Carole Gill -- the Blackstone Vampires series
~Charlotte Books - EXAMINER."In the attempt to find the just measure of horror and terror, I came upon the writing of Carole Gill whose work revealed a whole new dimension to me. The figure of the gothic child was there. Stoker's horror was there. Along with the romance! At the heart of her writing one stumbles upon a genuine search for that darkness we lost with the loss of Stoker." DR. MARGARITA GEORGIEVA ~ Gothic Readings in The Dark

- Reviewed in the United States on July 23, 2014I read this box set in about a week, and only because I had to stop to do chores and errands. Otherwise I'd have finished much sooner. The author makes you care for these characters, sometimes even the evil ones! Before you know it, you have feelings and almost start hoping they will change... Love the Gothic/classic style of the writing, and as the story moves forward you feel as though you are living it with the characters. The first three books feature Rose Baines as a protagonist. The things she's been through are more than the average person could take! The fourth book, The Fourth Bride, is the story of Dia, Rose and Louis' adoptive daughter, and here we meet a very familiar character in classic literature - Count Dracula. I feel that Eco, who has a strong presence in books 2 and 3, is one of the best drawn out villains I've ever seen. The horror can be quite raw and shocking, leaving you breathless sometimes, but that's the mark of a great horror book, I think. Although these characters are vampires, most of the trials they go through are very "human" and therefore relatable. For this reason, it sticks in your mind long after reading. Rose, Louis and Dia made such an impact on me, as did all the other characters, especially the children. Loved this series and would recommend it to anyone!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2015Well, first of all, this was a different sort of vampire book. Second, with Satan and the rest of the demons and really bad people. I was a little bit leery of reading the rest. But as it turns out...I did like the books.
I would recommend the book to anyone that likes vampire books.
I mainly give 4 stars, because I believe there will always room for improvement.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2016This is an original body of work. I can't compare it to any other vampire book I've read. It pulls you in and just won't let go! I found myself listening to it in the car because I just couldn't bear waiting. This book isn't for everyone, it's VERY graphic in every way. The author pulls the story together nicely.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2014I like vampire stories. However, in this case, I really got shafted. It's not worth 1 star but the system requires you click on at least one.
This is THE worst writing of ANY kind I've encountered in decades. Ms. Gill doesn't seem to have a storyline in mind when she writes; rather, she jumps right in and starts making it up as she goes along, wandering all over the place, confusing readers with information gaps, characters who contradict themselves over and over again (in the same paragraph, no less) and a crude attempt to produce a story told from a 19th century perspective by characters who continually revert to 20th century prose. While I applaud inventiveness, her 'vampires' are vampiric in name only [undead (or resurrected) bodies that wander around in the daylight, fly (not as bats, as humans), drink blood only occasionally, eat human flesh AND real food… maybe she meant zombies? Or bad fairies? Dark elves?].
As you turn the pages of this drivel her characters gain powers and lose abilities, only to regain or lose them again. You can't tell from one moment to the next if the 'good' guys will flourish or turn into bad guys and go down in flames. Oh wait, maybe the bad guys win or, ARE there any bad guys at all? Are they supernatural or just psychotic crazies? Let's not forget the demons, half-angelic offspring and, ‘ghosts’ who are solid enough to touch, and oh yeah! 'herbs' (not blood) that keep the undead alive and able to walk in the sun. Just about everyone in this book is a 'vampire,' a demon or has been influenced/manipulated by a ‘vampire’ or demon.
Then there's the sex - oh, yes there's a lot of BAD sex going on here. No, I'm not judging... it's just HORRIBLY written sexual episodes. And who would possibly believe that a 19th century virgin would tear open her blouse to expose herself to a married man for whom she works (with his wife down the hall) because she wants to convince him she's in love with him... don’t actually SAY it girly, just rip your clothes off because it must be love if you’re willing to rip off your own clothes, right?
OMG, I’m babbling (deep breath) …. I only managed to force my way 1/4 of the way through this mistake before throwing up (my hands) and throwing out this purchase. I've removed it from my Cloud and now need to find a way to wash my brain before the rest of me actually vomits.
Ms. Gill, you've managed to make me wary of new authors. However, from my extremely limited exposure to such, I believe you have a real talent for writing stories for cheesy porn magazines --- it's badly written and over-blown too --- right up your alley.
By the way, you owe me $3.99!!!!

- Reviewed in the United States on July 27, 2014The Blackstone Vampires Series is dark and dangerous. It’s not light-weight, no sparkles. Each of the novels is gripping and the story well-written. The vampires are real and scary. Historical settings and vampires, how can you go wrong? The last book with Dracula was a real treat. I enjoyed it very much. It was probably my favorite.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Vampiric Feast of Literary Satisfaction!
Having already read the first book in Ms Gill's Blackstone Vampires series, and thoroughly enjoyed it, i jumped at the opportunity to obtain this omnibus edition while it was on special offer at what I considered pretty much a giveaway price. I have to say that this was probably the finest value book purchase I've made in quite a long time. Most of the reviews previously submitted about the omnibus have mentioned various aspects of each book, relating much of the storylines, so I wanted to try and make my review a little different, but, how to do it? Well, the best thing I can say is that the four books in this series definitely meld together beautifully, as the author takes her readers through a whole gammut of scenarios and settings that are certainly gruesome and fearful enough for any lover of the vampire genre. Carole Gill's writing style lends itself beautifully to her subject matter, and she pulls no punches when describing the more graphic scenes that form an essential and necessary part of the storylines in each novel. She approaches her novels in a wholly professional manner, not wasting the reader's time with trivia, instead focussing on the action and the characters, and what I loved about the books was the fact the 'heroes' can just as equally be regarded as the 'villains' in most cases. It is up to the reader to decide for themselves in which category they want to place each character. Ms Gill has in fact made it possible, over the course of four beautifully written novels, to feel both sympathy and empathy for that most loathsome of fictional creatures, the vampire! The fact that she is able to weave so much emotion and romantic involvement into her books is yet another factor that adds to the attraction of this series, as her vampires, their victims and their families are brought to life in her words and descriptions in a superb, enthralling collection. If you are a vampire lover, then this collection will serve you well. Sit back, relax, and dare I say, simply drink it all in. Superb!

3.0 out of 5 stars 50 Shades of Grim?
The three stars is for the excellent price - however, these books are extraordinarily repetitive. It's better written than 50 Shades, however, the author seems to be stuck in a bit of a rut about satanic orgies and sexual kinkiness, all done in such a way as to be as erotic as last week's fish supper - the Miss Marple school of sexual perversion. Consequenty she kind of misses the point about plot development over a very long course and she often has her main character becoming "bored" with the orgies - he's not alone. There are derivative shades of Jane Eyre and Interview with a Vampire in there also. For 99p you can hardly knock it, she's not making any money on it - her writing does show some real talent and if she manages to instil more than one idea, some real terror and a decent plot in her next book, she could be onto a winning formula.

5.0 out of 5 stars recommended.
Have just purchased this as an offer. However, have been happily surprised at the way that story runs along. Is very good and am enjoying the way the characters are building toward the centre of the story line.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant book
A very enjoyable and different book covering my favourite subject, vampires, cleverly mixed into a many situations story. I will certainly look for more from the author
