A Kiss From Moët Kindle Edition
She’s young. Gorgeous. Cursed.
Moët Arkady is a Lecora ―cursed by an ancient swamp magic so that any man she kisses could end up not only possessing her but a lifetime of fabulously good luck to boot. Not exactly helpful when Moët’s plane crashes right into the swamp that created the curse in the first place. So when Moët must play good Samaritan to a drowning passenger, what was that? A kiss? Better not be, because he’s Moses Gentry, the indomitable Gentry in The Consortium v. Gentry Refinery the most dangerous legal war these southern Parishes have ever seen. And she’s the new Court Monitor who has to decide the whole blasted thing. And that wily old swamp still has its magic not to mention some truly surprising plans for the intrepid little Lecora.Because when they all least expect it, a bit of swamp magic could just seal this deal… with a kiss!Bonus chapters from some of the author’s other books are included.- LanguageEnglish

Review
Sex magic! A kiss trapping a woman into servitude to a man, the primordial swamp incarnated into a centuries old gator, and settling scores bayou style featuring a whacky cast of characters, from a sexually predatory preacher right on down to one very stupid sheriff, with tiltage.
At its core this is an age old tale: girl (uh woman) kisses boy (read, adult man) girl become boy's property (yep) and then falls in love with him only to have that love returned. And anything which dares threaten her is then dealt with with all due diligence by said overprotective male. In the end though, she still asserts her independence...sorta.
Often bombastic, always hilarious, A Kiss from Moët ties all these ideas (ancient living swamp in love with beauty, the schemes of men leading to their own downfall, true love and the search for oneself while finding and keeping that relationship) into a neat package and delivers a final denouement which although not altogether unexpected is still very satisfying, leaving you in the end with a sense of all is right with Moët's world and everything will be happy from here on out.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2014This is a fun, well-written, humorous novel taking place in the swamp of Louisiana. It's dark humor, which really appeals to me, and the characters are well developed, smart, and not your typical good or bad guys. I laughed through the whole story and wished it hadn't ended. I'll just have to get the next one! Love this author!! She's new to me, and I definitely will be getting more from her.

I realize this book has received numerous good reviews but I was not interested in reading the whole book.
The wording and language was hard for me to understand.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book to review.

Okay, first and foremost, A Kiss From Moët made me laugh my pants off. At times there would be something going on and you'd be thinking it's really not a good time to laugh but still, some of the words that were spoken or thought just needed to be laughed at. It was somewhat of a lighter romance that I really enjoyed. It was a nice break from some of the heartbreakers I've been reading recently.
The legend was really interesting as well. I never really took the legend as real until we start getting some special perspectives. Believe me then you'll think twice. And I am going to say that the special perspective is very unique and I honestly didn't think that that would actually happen but it did.
The amount of double motives going on were so confusing. It seems that everyone had one motive that they were up front about and then they were hiding another behind their back. And these were slowly teased out. It did make things easier to keep the plots straight when done so but at the same time you can't help but wish you knew everyone's true motives.
Some of the characters took a bit of warming up to enjoy but after a while you start seeing the good behind what you think of the bad.
Overall A Kiss From Moët was just the right break from real heartbreakers and I think that if you're searching for more of a comical romance than this is certainly a book to entertain you!

Spoiler Alert.
I love the story between Moet and Moses. And the magical story sounding the swamp, the lake and the woman - it really made this a special book. It was the story of Moses and Moet that kept me turning the page. the author has give the reader a momentum to get these 2 characters together and in love. And for me, that's a good romance.
However, there are some things that the book could be improved upon:
In the first few pages of the book, I found the authors writing style confusing and difficult to get into. Sporadically, throughout the book, I thought the author tried to over complicate sentences - making it so that I had to re-read them several times before I understood what was intended. I found myself wanting to tell the author - the story is good! stop trying to over complicate things!
At times, there is a lot of 'back story' and little action - it gets a bit boring. I would suggest to keep the story line simpler.

A Kiss From Moet was a very fun, humorous good time. The characters are lively and entertaining while the story keeps you smiling and on the edge. The magic is charming and beautiful and there are so many surprises! I absolutely loved it!
The one thing I noticed that is SO WORTH mentioning, is the details and descriptions Lorain O' Neil provided for us in A Kiss From Moet. The story Miss O'Neil made was both creative and imaginative. Everything about this story drags you in and keeps you reading till the very end.
Rating A Kiss From Moet was pretty simple for me to make. I feel absolutely good about giving it a FOUR OUT OF FIVE STARS! I love the characters, the plot, the fun moments throughout the book and best of all, the magic and humor are addicting!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2015I really enjoy reading about Louisiana and magic. This book was full of both. I didn't want to enjoy it at first. The language is explicit at times. I loved the unique characters. I would definitely read something else from this author. I truly appreciate being able to give an honest review in exchange for a free copy of this ebook.
