All 23 books of Dorothy May Mercer's helpful "How to for You" series have been rewritten and updated to reflect Amazon's recent closing of CreateSpace and the move to Kindle Direct Publishing. Consequently readers can rely on the latest in step by step, easy-to-follow, clear and concise instructions. For example her booklet, "How to Create a Kindle Cover" uses the Kindle Cover Creator to make professional looking covers at no cost. The sequel, "How to Install an eBook Cover on a Paper Book" and Vice Versa has been edited to reflect the special tricks that are unique to that process.

Amazon's decision to discontinue CreateSpace.com and merge all the paper book publishing into Kindle Direct Publishing has caused Dorothy May a tremendous amount of work. Mercer Publications had more than 80 books published with Createspace. While the Kindle people tried to make it as seamless as possible, it was still necessary to go through the online details on each novel and travel book, and completely rewrite all 23 of the "How to For You" series

.

Also, Mercer Publications published Dorothy May's 12th novel, "Nate, the Search," a hot new thriller about a Federal Air Marshal who goes about thwarting terrorists, at the same time he has never given up on finding his long-lost daughter who was kidnapped out of the hospital nursery 20 years ago. We get a glimpse into her life as well as a bit of romance. "Nate, the Search" is in three formats, Kindle, Print & Audible, dramatically recorded by the actor Scott Ellis.

For the past couple of years, we have been working with Audible producers to record all of our novels, in both English and Spanish versions. We have worked with some great actor/producers. The popular McBride Series novels could not be more relevant to today's news. They deal with the hottest topics in the United States and internationally, such as porous borders, refugees, lone gunmen, gangs, illegal drugs, addiction, smuggling, immigration reform, kidnapping, human trafficking, selling of body parts, corrupt officials, terrorists, drones, space warfare, cyber warfare, abortion, family planning, surrogacy, assassination plots, spying, the latest new technologies and more--all written in entertaining storybook--action/mystery/suspense--form.

Each page-turner novel has intriguing twists and turns, with complete and surprise endings.

The lighter side includes romances, relationships, sexual preferences, families, interesting personalities, travel, play, recreation, humor, weddings, babies, puppies, and a lovable mother dog, who is also many talented as a sleuth, tracking and guard dog.

Prolific and best selling author Dorothy May Mercer lives in Michigan, U.S.A. with her husband. They commute between two lakefront homes. Her hobbies are writing, reading, playing the piano, helping others, traveling, skiing, boating, and golf. Her advancing years have necessitated retiring from mountain climbing and long treks in the Rocky Mountains, although she still enjoys gazing at them.

2015 was productive year. She set out to publish at least one book a month, and surpassed that goal with 16 books published under her own name and 5 books for others.

2014 was a busy year, as well, with the publishing of 11 new books. Six new ebooks in the wildly popular "How to For You" series of booklets on specific subjects for independent authors and publishers, covering everything from How to Edit to How to Format Your Book. In 2015, Dorothy set out to bundle and publish those in paperback, for ease of reference.

Her first travel book, "Alaska and Back" is still one of her top sellers, encouraging Dorothy May to write six new books in her travel series, one each on San Francisco, Niagara Falls, Africa, Kauai Island, Maui Island, and Oahu Island of the Hawaiian Island chain.

We are very excited about her series, "The McBride Romances." Each one will explore what happened to the couples who were introduced in the original McBride Series of eight novels. The first McBride Romance is about "Fran and Max" the couple you met in "The Savage Surrogate." This book with explore what happened to them and whether they ever got together. "Fran and Max the Bungalow," is now on available in audible, ebook and paper versions. There is plenty of mystery and suspense in the novel, as well as a romance and satisfactory ending. More novels in this genre take up the stories of Cynthia and Dan, Nate, and Kelly and Tom and Marybeth and Sammy.

There is a growing movement of folks who are sick and tired of erotica and are hungry for a romantic love story with something more to the plot, more meat on the bones, and less time in bed, so to speak. If you care to try that genre, you will love the McBride Romance novels.

In the series of three "Washington McBride Novels," each book stands alone as complete. The series takes off where the original "McBride Series" stopped. In Book One, "the Fairfax Fix," Mike McBride, now a crusading US Senator, deals with a local gang which preys on pretty high school girls, using them as prostitutes to finance their gang. The gang operation is inspired by an actual gang in Fairfax, VA whose members were arrested for pimping, etc.

Book Two, "the Arlington Alias," opens in nearby Arlington, Va. Juliette McBride and Cynthia Patterson play a prominent role in rounding up a Human Trafficking Syndicate, operating in the metro area and around the world. Again, the story is inspired by actual arrests for human trafficking and offers links in the Bibliography for more information.

The final book of the trilogy "the Savage Surrogate," is the ultimate in story-telling. If you cry at happy/sad movies, have your Kleenex ready. Lady Dog with Juliette and Mike McBride are involved in separate, seemingly unrelated crime-solving capers, which all come together in one grand finale. In this novel, the author cleverly weaves four threads in and out of danger and into a common joyous blanket. For arm-chair detectives, clues are planted, right and left, so, set aside a weekend and be prepared for a fun ride and a surprise ending.

Detective Mike McBride takes on Mexican drug cartels in Dorothy Mercer's new book "The Golden Coin". Mercer is a skilful writerwho manages to tell a compelling story but still address the serious issues of drug use. An enjoyable crime novel.

There are too many plots & subplots to make this book believable: cocaine subs (?), romance on the subs , illegal immigration, valuable coins from a Mexican family from a mountain top village and on it goes. I wouldn't waste my money or time reading it.

I liked this version much better than the first. Very well plotted. I was a little overwhelmed by the number of characters brought into the last chapter, but maybe they're in other books in the series. I also would have liked more closure about the hero's romance in the last chapter. For me, that omission made the ending seem a little flat.

The author reveals many dark dealings in our world in story form. But she also shows the good side of human nature such as the deep caring for a little orphan by characters who don't even know her. At first it appears there are a few separate stories, but the connection becomes apparent. I listened to the audiobook version of this book and the narrator did a credible job. It's definitely worth a listen (or a read).

Dorothy May Mercer writes another police procedural filled with well researched details of the struggles with Mexico's drug cartel, the exploitation of innocents both abroad and at home, and the manner in which good people can still prevail, helping one another along the way. Three major plot lines intertwine to create a rich tapestry of characters and situations that feed off one another to lend suspense, action, and human emotion to the plight of immagrants pulled in as pawns in the dangerous world of drug trafficking.

Francisco is a young man from a far away land who has been promised salvation for himself and his family in the United States. Instead, he is exploited, tortured, and nearly killed. Still, he remains kind and brave in the face of terrible danger and continues to look for the best in people and befriends with an open heart.

Mike McBride does his job. Along with his dog, Lady Dog, he rescues a little girl and assists in finding her a good home. He is there to listen and support his friends when heartache enters their lives. At last, he is able to tell the woman he loves how much she means to him.

Felix Lopez, aided by Carlos, a man who, without hesitation, offers his assistance, works with the mountain people to bring the bad guys to justice and help the immagrant situation in the process.

Although this book depicts the violence and devastation of the drug cartel, it also shows us that when people take the time to reach out to one another in caring ways there is always hope for a brighter, better future for us all.

This is the well-researched description of a war--a combination of the vicious world of cartels and the unscrupulous playing on the desires of people who want to come to North America to work. Francisco Pisaro is one of the hopefuls who are exploited. Police Lt. Mike McBride sees it all. In this book the author shows us the effects of drug use and the efforts of so many to stop the traffic to the U. S. Mike has his own struggle with his love for Julie and
worries that his job will destroy their relationship. The book leaves us wanting to find out more about the many characters that we meet in the novel.
The end has an overview of the major drug additions, a valuable resource for those wanting more information on drug problems.
