Dad & Mom's Country Wisdom: Everything I Know About the Bible I Learned on the Farm Kindle Edition
Author Jim Geyer says he has two blessings in life.
The first blessing was godly parents who daily instilled in him biblical and moral values by both word and example. The second blessing was being raised on a farm where he was taught informed by God’s marvelous creation.
Travel with Jim Geyer to a time when a man’s word was his bond, when a handshake was all that was needed to consummate an agreement, a time when doors were seldom locked and windows were often open to catch the warm evening summer breeze. A time when growing up was a fun, carefree time.
Consider today’s culture and you immediately see a marked decline in the strength of families who each evening gather around the supper table. There is an observable decrease in honesty, integrity, and accountability.
Dad and Mom’s Country Wisdom offers pleasant memories of your parents’ childhood. This book will bless you with many Scriptures that have and still do relate to our daily experiences and challenges you in your personal, family, and business life.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2015Jim is my Mom's cousin, and she is thrilled to read this.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2019As a farm boy myself I can relate very easily to many of the anologies and allegories.
This little book does parcel out wisdom. The simplistic, slow, sojourning wisdom from someone looking back at life's lessons. Some of these concepts are (or have slipped) slipping away because of the fast technical world we live in.
This little book is a good devotionally written book. I have marked many sentences, phrases and quips to be used when teaching others.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2024We met Jim at Sweet Corn Charlie’s and got to talking. We gave him our ministry card and a few weeks later we received this book in the mail with a handwritten card. Over the years, we’ve read these devotions out loud to our kids and really enjoyed them. They are suitable for all ages, easy to understand and full of timeless wisdom. The biblical teachings are solid and really cause you to think. We always wanted to thank Jim personally but never got a chance while he was still living. We still cherish his gift, so glad to have met him and to own his book.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2013This was a good review of my own values. He pointed out that being slow and deliberate can be a good way to be when making decisions that affect other people.
