INTERVIEW WITH THE AUTHOR
Q - Tell us a little bit about your Shadow Quest series. Shadow Quest is a unique mix of genres that incorporates paranormal romance, fantasy romance, and science fiction romance. My characters are based loosely in mythology with some kick-but mythical creatures such as demons, dragons, witches, and fey-like beings. Since they’re all from different planets, I suppose they’d be considered aliens. Each book focuses on the relationship of the hero and heroine and the trust they must build with one another. The connection they form is a slow-burn at first, and then turns combustible. I play with the fated mates theme, but the conflict and mistrust keeps things interesting. Ultimately love wins out in the end, if they can survive the journey. Q – What order should I read the books in? Each book can be read in any order and the reader can still follow along, but for the full experience, I suggest the following sequence: - The Demon's Possession - The Demon Slave - The Demon's Retribution - Demon Untamed Q - So, why should readers give these books a try? Paranormal romance fans are ravenous, and my Shadow Quest series hits the spot. Readers have told me they have read The Demon's Possession several times over and still enjoy it. It’s a series that draws you in and makes you long for more. Readers who enjoy witty romance, alpha males, and lots of action will want to take this epic journey. Q - What inspired the world you created in The Demon's Possession, having it take place in space and different planets? I’ve always been interested in scifi, fantasy, paranormal, and mythology. I thought about the kind of romance novels I enjoy reading and what I liked about them: the idea that there could be a supernatural world within our own, veiled from sight. Then I thought, “What if all these creatures from lore were really from different planets?” After that, the world building came naturally.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2011Once you start reading this novel - you will not be able to put it down. The world building is vivid, unique and so realistic that the reader is easily drawn into the story and can not stop reading until the very end. The characters are so well developed that it is effortless to visualize them in your mind, to come to care about them, to want to know what happens to them. In Sci-fi, the author must be able to convince the reader to suspense belief and believe in the world and characters created. Some authors are better than others at this and this author succeeded beyond my expectations.
Pros:
Absolutely great world building with great descriptive statements that enable the reader to visualized everything without confusion or disbelief.
The lovemaking was erotic, not just graphic. There is a slow build up to the love scenes - and they are love scenes - not lust scenes. They do have a tendency to make one go out and look for some demon lovers of your own.
The crisis's and misunderstandings are easily understood and do not feel just manufactured to move the plot along.
Great characterization. Even the secondary characters are fullly developed. They are used to support and further the plot of the novel without overshadowing the main hero/heroine. The reader comes to care about the secondary characters but never is destracted from the main characters.
Alpha males - I want my males to be Alphas, caring but strong and dominant - wanting to protect and care for their females. A little on the wild side.
The heroine is fragile but strong in spirit and gives her all when those she love are in danger.
Fast paced - you can not put the book down. Each page draws the reader in where there just isn't a good stopping place. Enough twists and drama to keep you reading until the wee hours.
HEA - I want and need a HEA
Cons:
I want the next book in the series - NOW!!!!!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 8, 2012Analia has no recollection of her past. She has no idea who she is, where she came from or how she came to be on the 'hell ship'. On the 'hell ship' she is locked up in isolation and her punishment comes in many forms from starvation to being forced to watch others being tortured or killed...all in an attempt to break her spirit. In addition to that, the captain of the 'hell ship', Darius, knows about her gift and exploits her, causing her to fear anyone else finding out. Finally, one day, she sees an opportunity for escape and does so, ending up on a merchant ship that had docked to bring cargo. After she is discovered as a stowaway, Analia learns about the most basic things in life that she never got to experience while locked up. She finds love, friendship and uncovers more about her past and her gift than she could have imagined.
I was lucky enough to get this for free on my kindle...regular price is $7.99 and I think that's a big steep for this - mainly because of the typos and grammar errors. In a free book, I can overlook that, for a book that charges 8 bucks? It's not so easy to overlook. If you are someone who has very little tolerance for typos/grammatical errors - skip this book. For me, I found the storyline and romance compelling enough to get through the book with minimal complaints regarding typos/grammar, but that's just me.
I was glad to find a lead character that I thoroughly liked...probably because of her naivete. How can you dislike someone so innocent and so appreciative of every little gesture? In fact, I enjoyed all the characters in this book. The author didn't bring in so many characters that it was impossible to keep up, but there were enough to keep things interesting. Also, like some reviewers mentioned, the author doesn't go into extreme details about the characters but she goes into enough detail for the main characters that I was OK with what she gave us. I really didn't think there were many things lacking in this book...the amount of detail was just right (not too much, not too little - I'm someone who tends to skip pages when a book gets too detailed) for me as I prefer a story to progress more than get weighed down with details. The details the author gave us provided motives for characters where needed, provided explanation for personalities and provided information as to why they were on the merchant ship. The only character that I feel could've used with a little more explanation was Darius. Oh, also, this is one of those books where pretty much everyone LOVES the main character. I've read books like that in the past and found them a bit overwhelming and unbelievable but luckily the author doesn't dwell on that component long enough for me to get sick of the almost immediate adoration everyone has for her.
As far as descriptions for background...no the author didn't go into details about the pub or the swimming pool or the galley...but she gave enough detail for me to picture what she was talking about. Some people may prefer to have all the descriptions spelled out for them - I'm ok with leaving some to my imagination. I really didn't feel the 'detail' part of it lacking at any point. In fact, had the author went into more detail, I may have started skipping pages just to get back to the story.
If you are uncomfortable with sexual content in a book, this is not the book for you. There's a lot of sex and it's graphic. For me, it never felt out of place (except for the very last time they do it...) and flowed naturally with the story. I thought it added to the story but understandably some people are uncomfortable with sexual content. Actually...ok, they did have a lot of sex...maybe I could've done without a couple of those scenes. :P
For me, there was never a dull moment. From the budding romance to the actual storyline - it kept my full attention. The twist in the plot was interesting, I love where the author took the story and I love that it was unpredictable. As far as the romance goes, I liked the relationship between Analia and Sebastian. It was passionate, sweet and most importantly, it wasn't TOO much. I've read books where I've found myself thinking 'omg, get a room...' or 'ok, I get it, you guys love each other, can we move on??'. I didn't think anything like that in this book...their relationship worked.
I really enjoyed this book but I don't know if I can recommend it for 8 bucks... If you want a compelling book and you don't mind paying that price - go for it...I'd say it's better than plenty of other books I've read in this genre. Will I be reading the second book in this series? That's undecided...the author provides a sample at the end of this one and it certainly looks interesting but once again, 8 bucks? I don't know. Oh, the second book appears to be focused on a side character we meet in this book...not my favorite kind of sequel progression but for this book, it works. Partly because we interact enough with this side character in book 1 to give a crap about what happens to him and partly because it's done in a way that makes sense.

5.0 out of 5 stars Demon's Possession
Happy to have stumbled upon this series.
In the process of reading book and am enjoying it as much as this one.
There could be some trigger points for some readers so be advised. Anya's story, her growth as a character, as a woman who can stand on her on was greatly moving.
I look forward to reading more about her and ber sisters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing new series!!!
Omg was I blown away by this book! A non stop roller coaster ride of a story with not a single dull moment to be found an epic start to a new series. This was so much more than I was expecting I was hooked from the first page and just couldn't put it down. It is packed full of action scenes, misunderstandings, passion, angst, comedic moments and love, so much more than the stowaway damsel in distress story I thought this would be. Firstly our leading lady Analia/Anya was a brave, courageous, kind, caring and loving woman who was so much more than she appeared, a beautiful person with an equally beautiful soul. She took her fate into her own hands and risked everything for her freedom, looked death in the eyes numerous times and embraced her destiny with open arms and sheer courage an utterly amazing person who won the hearts of all who knew her. No matter all the horrendous things that were done to her she never lost her faith, her compassion or kindness putting the needs and safety of others above her own a truly selfless person. Anya without a doubt deserved her H.E.A and the best male to love, care and protect her which she got in Sebastian/Bastian without a doubt. He was absolutely GORGEOUS with black hair, tiny horns, golden eyes and a muscular physique a HOT AS ALL HELL demon! Caring, kind, sexy, possessive and jealous he was an utterly sinful piece of alpha male. Lustful and incredibly passionate Sebastian wanted Anya from the very beginning but refused to accept it and denied it profusely as he didn't want to mate anyone due to a painful past history. All I can say is oh boy was he PASSIONATE! HOT DAMN were there some STEAMY moments between them but Bastian proved to have an iron resolve that left my jaw dropping and making me think that he must have had the largest pair of blue balls ever in existence lol. The additional characters mentioned such as Calic and Sonya who happen to be Sebastian's brother and sister and also Malik were a hoot with many a funny moment between them. Plenty happens in this story and with the plots revealed towards the end of the book and what transpires to one of the characters you know that their is so much more left to come leaving you anxious to read the following installment which is what I'm going to do.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome read
Intriguing, sensual, believable characters and perfect resistance to just jumping into bed at the word go! I'm certainly hooked enough to want to read the rest of the series and find out how everyone else pairs up! Well written, although editing slipped a little towards the end, but with a large book, that can be understandable!
