About the authors
Perhaps the miniature typewriter she received on her fourth birthday inspired Eve Gaal to spend her life writing poetry, stories and even books from a very early age. By age twelve she was sending poems to publishers and learning valuable, albeit painful lessons about rejection.
Determined, her poems appeared in yearbooks, college newspapers and a small collection of journals. Creative necessity, forced her into the corporate world of newspapers, where she used her talent for writing clever advertising copy to influence unwary consumers into believing they needed new cars.
A full time freelance writer, her writing has appeared in anthologies, and online magazines. More of her writing can be found at: http://www.evegaal.com or http://evegaal.blogspot.com

Marie Lavender lives in the Midwest with her family and cats. She has been writing for twenty-five years, with more works in progress than she can count on two hands. At the tender age of nine, she began writing stories. She majored in Creative Writing in college because that was all she ever wanted - to be a writer. While there, she published two works in a university publication, and was a copy editor on the staff of an online student journal. After graduating from college, she sought out her dream to publish a book.
Marie Lavender lives in the Midwest with her family and two cats. She has been writing for twenty-five years, with more works in progress than she can count on two hands. She also dabbles in graphic design. A blogger on the side, she writes adult fiction, published one story for children, and recently started some YA fiction. She also contributed to several anthologies. Though Marie has standalone titles on the market, there are six current published series, with many others planned.

A list of her books are as follows:
Marie Lavender: "Lovers Like Us" (featured poem from the book anthology, Poets & Writers in Action); A Little Magick; Second Chance Heart; Directions of the Heart; Blue Vision; The Missing Piece; Chasing Ginger; Magick & Moonlight; Upon Your Return; Second Nature; Phenomenal Touch series starter boxed set; Blood Instincts
(**AUTHOR'S NOTE -- Upon Your Honor, Upon Your Love, and The Heiresses boxed set are unavailable right now, until I can release them back to the public after getting out from under contracts with two publishers. Also, I used the previous pen names - Erica Sutherhome, Kathryn Layne, and Heather Crouse - for several books, but I am trying to fully revise and republish those works under collections writing as Marie Lavender.)
Well, I don't have much to say about myself. I have been writing since my school days (short poems, stories, etc) but never could make it big in the offline world due to competition. Then later on in my life I discovered the awesome world of self-publishing! It took me some time to get back in gear but hey it was worth it, and here I am!
What inspires me to write? Hmm, pretty hard to answer that one! Hmm, maybe the dream of becoming rich and famous one day! :-) Seriously, although I consider myself to be a jack of all trades, I feel that writing is the only thing I can do, and do well, without any restrictions! There is no limit here that I can't cross, no boss whose rules I have to play by!
I am a slow writer and more of a seat-of-the-pants type! One I am done with my book I'd regret about not having a proper plan or method etc., but when I am about to write my next book I am back to square one again. Creature of habit, you can say!
I pretty much want to slip into my characters, put myself in their shoes and think about 'Hey, if it were me instead of him or her, then what would I have done/said in a similar situation?' That apart, because my characters are pretty multi-dimensional, it takes quite a lot of research before I can sketch even ONE character fully!
Although I've been writing for a long time, I wouldn't have been here had it not been for a friend: she really convinced me (I don't think it was her intention but anyway) to join the world of self-publishing. She is a pretty good writer herself (actually I think a better writer than me) and doing well in the publishing world! I mentioned her name in my book Phantasy because it was she who helped me in the arduous task of formatting my book!
For wannabe writers, I have just one thing to tell them 'Write your heart out. Don't give a damn about what people would say about it!' I believe that the future of self-publishing is bright, although not everything about the self-publishing world is as rosy as it looks on the surface. There is quite a struggle and investment involved ahead, if you really want people to read your ebook, that is!

- Reviewed in the United States on September 16, 2015I had written a short story a long time ago and finally submitted it for the PnP Authors International Short Story Contest - and it won the contest and has been published in this wonderful anthology! But this is not what this review is all about. This review is about the wonderful owners of the PnP Authors Peter and Pattimari Sheets Cacciolfi who had the courage to invite outstanding authors to submit short stories. This review is about the fact that there is virtually no difference in the wonderful writings of these great authors - Kathryn Treat, Christopher Meade, Sayed Rohani, Marie Lavender, Alfancena Barrett, Phibby Venable, Dawn Huffaker, Charles Ray, James Horn, Marlowe Sr., Eve Gaal and of course PnPAuthors Promotions owners, Peter & Pattimari Cacciolfi. Each story is so wonderful that each author should have a tribute written specially for him or her. I have no words to describe the great talent of all the authors and recommend their work and specially this anthology for every bookshelf in the world - Peter and Pattimari have dedicated all royalties to charity and every author here, in consonance with the spirit of the anthology has disclaimed any right to royalties. So this is more than just a collection of poems and stories - besides by contest winning short stories, I was delighted to find that they have also included a couple of my poems in the anthology. THIS IS A 5 STAR COLLECTION AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, since besides my little effort you will find the best this world has to offer from amazing authors who are still unknown- but write because of their passion!

5.0 out of 5 stars A really wonderful anthology of great poetry from amazing authors from across the world
A really wonderful anthology of great poetry from amazing authors from across the world. Peter and Pattimari deserve accolades for this brilliant effort and as the proceeds are going entirely to charity - all of us authors and poets are honored to have contributed our little bit.
