Once again, Krinberg has created a work with fascinating characters, rich imagery, and an intriguing story.

Doc Krinberg produces here a challenging and entertaining narrative of an expatriate English teacher on a misadventure/self-imposed exile in Japan. With razor sharp insights as to the oddities and nuances of his disaffected colleagues and the strange foreignness of the expatriate experience, Doc's main character navigates the cultural and interpersonal spaces of Japan and juxtaposes those with flashbacks as to the disasters that caused this main character to make the decisions that led up to the self-imposed exile.

All in all, this is a very entertaining read with solid characters, a lucid narrative, and a sharp twist at the end.

    Enjoy!

A taut psychological drama with all the necessary ingredients set amidst a vibrantly depicted Japan. This literary work showcases the fascinating interface of American and Japanese cultures, the bridges that are forged between them and the inextricable divisions. A work finely written and much enjoyed.
