Robert Cook was born in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey in 1949. He lived briefly in New Jersey, Germany and California before moving to Arizona. He lived in Mesa, Arizona until he joined the Army, at the age of seventeen, serving for 3 years in Special Forces in Germany and Vietnam and 1 1/2 years in the 82nd Airborne Division. He worked for 20 years in the semiconductor industry as an equipment maintenance engineer. He has been married for 20 years to Julie AutumnCook and those who know them well say “they look like they are still on their honeymoon.”
